Whitney Oaks Golf Club
About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Excellent!
Challenging course. Well maintained. Beautiful setting. Awesome greens.
Very nice course!
Course is very maintained but a short yardage course. A lot of 350 yard holes. But overall you can't beat the deal just play from the blues
No rain
Whitney Oaks is a great track. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I book my 640 am round on golf now. It still dark at 640. The pro shop was got me set up anyway. Made sure I knew the greens had been punched and the green were sanded. They still rolled true, very slow but, still had a good round. This course we be fantastic in a couple weeks.
Beautiful course
Sacramento's best kept secret. Oops now it's out!
Beautifully designed.
Take your time to look back at the tee box once you are on the fairway, every holes has its unique design. Have fun making birdies out there!
Tough course to play without local knowledge
Fortunately we played with someone who has played the course before.Having local knowledge made the course more enjoyable. There was some muddy fairways(to be expected with all the rain this winter)and about 6 hole you were not allowed to drive your cart on.Some really tough pin placements on the greens, but greens were in great shape for this time of year. All in all it was a great experience and would definitely play here again and recommend this course
Single player without hand
As a single golfer you lose all your rights. Booked a 1:00 p.m. tee time hoping someone would join me. No such luck . Got behind a foursome who were on the first green, when I arrived at first tee. Caught them by the third hole where they became statues on the 3rd green. .Went back to the first tee hoping to give them space to speed up. All well --- caught them again on the 9th green. Again went back to first tee and joined junior golfer and played holes one through nine, and left due to darkness. Looks like single player better off making sure he has someone to play with. Warning slow play may be detrimental to all golfers, and the sport, Hit ,or putt the ball and move on.
One of the best golf courses in the area
For as much rain as we have had the course is in good shape. The staff is fantastic and always helpful. Great bar for after the round.
Whitney Oaks
..if you haven't played here. Strap on your shoes, because this is one course your not going to want miss playing. Oh Johnny will test you here. Sometimes a tad unfairly like hole 10, where a tiny tree branch hugging left fairway stops an otherwise perfect drive. And the greens, very difficult to say the least.
And it was wet, very wet. So the course played long. Considering the weather we've had, the course was in amazingly good condition.
Of course the layout is beautiful. Nature everywhere. Quiet and peaceful.. So yes, play this gem! Enjoy!
Like being home
Having come back to play after dropping this course from our rotation, it is particularly challenging but in a fun way. Used to play this course all the time but moved on as conditions degraded but they are nearly back to the good years. Greens are in excellent shape and are nearly as quick as before (still not enough of you repair your ball marks; they don't self-repair). Really like the fringe cut as they provide a nice frame to the green and in some cases keeps the ball playable.
Target golf
This Johnny Miller course is for the mid to advanced golfer. Some of the greens are extremely unfair. Prepare to lose some golf balls.
Great Condition and well worth playing
course was in great shape and always offers a good combination of challenge, scenary and fun.
Course in decline
The course is beautiful, but the management is either not allowing enough budget for proper course maintenance or they need a new superintendant.
nice course
You need to hit straight at this course, you make a mistake left or right and you are OB with no sight of your ball. great scenery. Greens are in great shape with a lot of undulation, so you have to hit your distances on approach.
Better than expected
Great course! Interesting, great condition , forced carries were tough but fair. What beauty all around! Can't wait to go back and play it again! Tough pin positions as well, but greens were great!
Hey "Catherine2673284" we are happy to hear that you found the course challenging but still enjoyable! We hope to see you again soon!
