Mission/Friars at Riverwalk Golf Club

The most average golf course ever, not better than mission trails, or enagic. The hot deal was $40 five months ago and they haven’t done anything new. I’m never playing here again for the price. Absolute crooks with those increases.

Cart lady was not friendly. Really slow pace of play with no rangers in sight to move groups along.

Played this course at 2 PM on a Tuesday with a hot deal they gave me a free cart, 75 bucks. Probably 15–20% of the fairways and tea boxes seem like they are damaged, under repair, or just hard pan dirt. Paired up with one other guy And was fortunate to have nobody behind us and twosomes in front of us so pace of play was great. The greens were medium speed. A little on the shaggy side which made them not roll very true, but not terrible. Overall, I would give the greens a 3.5 out of 5.0.

River Walk is a very nice course. It is clear it is undergoing some renovations yet it is still very challenging and fun to play. Will do better the next time I play the course..

The course is in terrible shape and they charge way too much for what that course is, much better courses for the same rate in San Diego.

Staff was extremely helpful. Got me out earlier than my reservation when I arrived early. This is my favorite golf course. I just wish I had played better than I did. Better luck next time!!

Convenient location. The golf course had some challenging shots. Conditions of the fairways were bare in areas. Greens were probably the best part of the course.

Public golf, muni or semi-private, is a foursome not of your making. Conventional courtesy keeps the game moving and disgruntlement is discouraged.

But sometimes you get lucky and your temporary friends enjoy the game as you do; scoring is optional.

So it was yesterday at Riverwalk.

It’s disappointing to see such a great course in such poor condition — it looks more like a desert than a golf course.

Conditions are absolutely terrible. The price is even worse. Tee boxes and fairways are horrible. The fairways are rough and the rough is rougher. Last played this course about 2 years ago and nothing has changed. I can’t believe people are willing to pay $100+ to play this course. Not worth the price. This is a $50 course at the max. At least it has a waterfall right.

This was in horrible shape. When you can’t play off of grass in the middle of the fairway, it’s a problem.

The course overall was nice. Liked the layout of the course and the greens were on par! Some of the fairways needs some improvement (dry, beat up) that also includes some of the T boxes. Otherwise great course, love the layout and will be back to play again!!!

Slowly declining every time I play here. Fairways are the worst Ive ever seen. No sand in the bunkers. I understand why they’re not investing back into it but at least lower the price.

I enjoyed my round but mainly because the greens were in perfect condition and the layout is interesting and challenging. None of the fairways are in championship condition so be aware that the round will be overpriced.

This place is over $100 on a weekday. This course is not nearly nice enough to warrant a hundred plus dollar round.
