Golfer Reviews
Best conditioned so far this year
The address on Golfnow doesn't take you directly to the clubhouse. Follow the signs inside the complex, which is quite pretty. Golfnow also didn't inform that the greens were recently sanded. Staff was business -like. Starter didn't recognize receipt for Hills course, paired us with couple playing Jones. We noticed and corrected. Play was slow, 2 1/2 hours for the front. After getting info that the cause was two groups ahead, requested a ranger via the GPS. Never showed, pace didn't increase.
The course was in good shape considering the winter Florida has experienced. The other critiques are the result of high expectations, based on "LPGA International.". Overall, worth the price and would play there again, trying the Jones course.
Disappointed
If it hadn’t been indicated that the greens were sanded, I would not have selected the teatime..
Always fun playing this track
With the LPGA label, I was expecting more. But overall it is a good track. Greens wasn't slick and was very manageable.
Refreshing style of Florida golf
Course conditions were great and greens were fast. The driving range was a bit dry so it was hard to get a feel for how the ball was going to fly that day. Big facility with nice staff
Nice course but packed and slow play
Played this course twice in one week. Was packed both days with multiple groups waiting to tee off. Pace of play the second day was horrible we waited on every hole for at least 15-20 mins. Became very friendly with the twosome in front of us since we meet up with them on every hole. Ranger finally came around when we had 3 groups backed up on one hole waiting to tee off. He didn’t even talk to us just drove by at full speed. We had to end round on 17th hole was too dark to play. We teed off at 1:15pm ! Course conditions were good. Greens fast. Nice tees, fairways and greens. Practice facility is excellent and good place to warm up. Just wish the pace of play was controlled a bit better.
Go for the golf
The golf was great. Greens really rolled well. Traps hadn’t been raked since? Around and in the clubhouse the housekeeping lacked. Not sure the LPGA should keep their name on this. Go for the golf.
Great layout and course, course amenities anemic
The course itself was in very good shape and we all enjoyed playing.
The temperature was 80+ but not very humid.
The drawback are almost no water stations except for the beverage cart (which we did see numerous times) and at the turn. But really needed water stations every other hole.
A real negative was the ladies were going to play the 'green' tees. But only the 1st 2 holes had green tees and none existed the remainder of the course. So they ended up playing the 'red' tees. Why have 'green' on the scorecard when they don't exist?
We used Golfnow and played for $63 each vs. $100+. $63 is a good price, at $100 I would skip this place.
Wonderful golf experience.
The experience at LPGA is outstanding. Wonderful layout combined with an impeccably conditioned golf course, makes for enjoyable golf!
Enjoyable Round
We enjoy playing this course. The layout is challenging for our skill level, and the conditions are good for the time of year. The greens were quick and ran true. In prior years we found the staff to be a bit unfriendly but on this day all were pleasant and helpful.
Good golfing
Everything was good except the young lady who checked us in at the pro shop. She must not like her job. Doesn’t smile, no greeting. Didn’t say thank you at all especially after spending $340 for our foursome. After paying she didn’t say enjoy your round or even a simple thank you.
I blame mgmt for poor training.
Good course, some tricky holes..
Played the Jones last week
Different layout, as good as the Jones but different.
We got paired up with two men, if we had not it would have been painfully slow out there.
Greens tricky if above the hole. Quick down hill, but slow up.
We did not go into the bar afterwards as we felt, whilst the prices we ‘normal’ having a mandatory 20% added just for pouring too beers was not right. We always tip, but 20% was excessive.
Long Day
Pace of play was very slow. Course was crowded. Four foursomes on one par 3.
