The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Slow play
Took 2 hours 25 mins to play the front nine and similar for back nine despite bypassing the 11th hole! Very slow fourball in front. Staff came out on the course to check what was happening but did nothing to rectify it. One member of fourball said my two ball couldn't go through as they were playing "a tournament" with the fourball in front. When we bypassed them on the 11th the 1st fourball were 2 holes ahead. 5 hours in 90 degree heat is not enjoyable.
Great Value..
Received a great rate on Golf Now..Staff was fantastic..played in off and on again rain..typical for this time of year..Course was in great condition despite rain..Would recommend this course to everyone..plays long from tips..not much roll after contact..not a course you can grip and rip..3 woods and 2 irons work well..Overall,once you find this gem in the Orange Lake Complex, you wont be disappointed.
One of the best courses in the area.
What a nice place to play around of golf. Very nice and professional staff. There pro shop is one of the best I have ever seen.
Great value, great layout
A hidden gem. Great value for a resort course. Tough, but fair. Friendly staff. Rental club were great.
A good value
Have been playing this course for several years and have found conditions to be consistently good. The only thing I have noticed is that the greens have been getting quite slower than normal lately and will need to be pressed more often. I hope they will address this issue to keep the value of playing this course good.
Absoluty beautiful setting
Beautiful setting , staff was very friendly made me feel as if I've been a member for 10 years.
Don't waste time or money
This course is in horrible shape. I would not recommend playing. The T's and fairways were extremely rough and the greens were full of weeds.
Great course to play
There had been a lot of rain in Orlando but the course was in great shape and enjoyable to play.
Good deals
Course holds water and was cart path only. Lots of walking and greens recently punched and bumpy. Good deal if you use a coupon.
Had made 2 tee times because we were there for 8 days. The coupons came with range balls which the starter guys did not give us. Told us to go to the range to warm up, but didn't give us balls, so had to go back for them.
Courses have nice layouts. I'd recommend for the price.
A course to be enjoyed all levels
The day that I went you could still feel the effects of the greens that were plugged a week earlier. I would definitely go back it is a good course to play offering enough challenges to make it interesting . The biggest downfall that I experienced the time I went, was that it had rained a day earlier. And a lot of the course was still soaked.
Disappointing experience.
The course was in horrible shape. The greens were less than horrible. The pro shop couter person acted like we were disturbing him, needs to go to charm school or find another job, very rude. Need less to say but we will not be revisiting this course. There are far too many golf courses that are in better condition with a friendly staff.
little tight
Course was recently airrated greens so a little bumpy. Over very nice value for cash vs course !
Great Day at Orange Lake
My son and I were playing The Reserve. This is the only improvement they should look into. Signs To find course. Other then that Awesome service by the starters. Course is beautiful and challenging. Some of the best pin placements ever hidden behind sandtraps. This course will challenge you.
Very nice course but let down by greens!!
Have played here on a few occasions and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. I like the course a lot, however it is really let down by extremely slow greens.
Also not happy to be penalised on price as green fees are $20 cheaper for Florida residents.
Good overall but not spectacular
Played on a Golfnow HotDeal for $17 plus fees and taxes per player. For that price the course was a fantastic value. Holes were not overly difficult. A fairly short course overall but that is what I think the intention is - an easier resort style course than the Legends. We played in 3:20, rarely waiting. Tee conditions were okay, fairways and greens were good. Admittedly the villas are in some cases pretty close to the fairways which I don't like. But overall, a great day.
Ok but could be great
The tee boxes need to be better. Overall nice course.
Lots of TLC is needed
Played this course many times and it's typically well looked after. Not anymore! If your not going to look after this course, close it. Nice track, terrible shape. Real shame.
The reserve
Greens were really slow. Pace of play was fast. Staff was very accommodating
