The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Very Good Value
Weather that week was cold, so when we played it was nice and it was a slow round because everyone wanted to take advantage of the good day - may have been slightly overbooked. Despite that it was one of the better conditioned courses we played all week and will definitely play this course again.
Nice track for the value
Value is the key when selecting this course. A few holes are close to condo's, if that is an issue. Overall, a place to which I would return.
Good Course
Good course except first hole from the front tees on the 1st hole was a joke as it was a par 4 from 150yards.
Good Golf
This is the way a golf game should be played.
Normal 4hr pace excellent course and immaculate greens. I'll play this course as oven as I can find a deal for a round .
Nice course
Nice course with some tough holes and quite a bit of water. Undulating greens. Nice fairways and greens.
Worth the time to play
Stayed on the property and booked this through golfnow and saved at least 50% The course was in great shape and is a good challenge with lots of water. Would definitely recommed the course to anyone to play when in the area! Good amenities like a great place to eat, proshop and resort stores.
Tight, tight, tight.
Fairly challenging, tight golf course in good condition.
Some good golf holes, greens are in good shape but on the slower side.
Fairways are narrow as a general rule. Lined with rooms. You can play right from the side of the rooms so that makes it play a little wider.
Worth playing if you get a good deal.
Holiday camp
First time and I am afraid the last, the most of the course is lined by holiday chalets giving a very closed in feeling, the water hazards are very poor more like mud holes lots of unprepared divots and plug marks on the green. The place is like a holiday camp and not worth the money.
Lots of water
Had never played this course before, but had seen it every time we drove past it on the 192. Not disappointed , course maintained to a good standard. Water hazards on virtually ever hole so you have to plan your route around the course to avoid lost balls. Met up with a father & son who were also visiting for the first time. Had a great time and will definitely play here agin
Overall experience good
Starter was very pleasant- biggest problem was a cart shortage had to wait 30 plus minutes for availability to one! Upon conclusion no one available to assist bringing bags to pickup area.
Resort Course - You get what you pay for
This course can be challenging due to it's fairly tight fairways surrounded by single-story condos. It's an affordable course (for a resort), and it's more of a 2nd thought to the Legends course in terms of upkeep. There is no real dress code here, so if your just a tourist looking for a quick round, this course will be perfect for you.
Great value
The course was very enjoyable. Not sure if time of year but the water holes didn't have water. Took away from the view and challenge.
Will play again thoigh
good golf course
We have played the golf course on a beautiful day and had lots of fun. The golf course was presented very well maintained. However, that on some holes the champion tees were closed, disturbed me a lot - considering that the course is not the longest, this made it even shorter ;-(
Watch out for some water hazards that you don't see from the tee!
Over all - I would go there again.
Nice Course. Just the right amount of challenge.
So it was not one of my better days of ball striking but I can't blame that on the course (wish I could). The course was in very good condition. There was a nice mix of wide open fairways and tight ones. There are some hazards not readily seen from the tee so you need to look for the red stakes since some water extends out into what you think is the fairway. Staff was great. Will definitely play it again.
Better than expected
We were looking for a course that would be a good experience for the men and the ladies and we found it. The course was in excellent condition and well maintained. Challenging enough for the men, yet playable for the ladies. The pro shop shares space with a deli and is in the middle of a huge parking area, which was a bit unusual. But everyone on staff was very friendly and helpful. We would play this course again given the same group of players.
The only downside is the proximity of the resort units to the fairways. At times we felt like we had a gallery when people were sitting outside on their patios and balconies.
Pace was a little slow.
A good course but needs marshal to speed up play. Should encourage play it up and ready golf.
Needs maintenance to make it more enjoyable to play
Layout was OK, some challenging holes. On average too short for us, even from the tips. Greens were good.
Great course, great service
My wife and I found the course in great condition. The greens rolled true and held shots very nicely. The first couple of holes were easy, but things toughened up considerably as the round progressed. The entire staff, from starter, cart assistants, beverage cart chick, to course ranger, all knew their jobs well, were friendly, and did everything they could to help make our round a good golfing experience.
Great value for the money
Overall condition was really good, greens were a
Little slow. Everything else was very good!
