The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Good, For the Money
We paid $35 thru golfnow, which was excellent! However, I like to play better courses while on vacation so I'd much rather play the The Legends course if I had to choose again.
Course was in okay shape. Tee boxes definitely needed work (but it's still March).
The biggest complaint I have is that this course has condo-like buildings lining the course and waaaaaay to close to the fairways. For the caliber of players playing this course, it's just too close. You can very easily hit these buildings with a semi-errant shot.
The only other thing to mention, is that there were several people walking on cart paths throughout the round effecting pace of play and kids playing in the fairway on 15 and 17, making it impossible to tee off. Better policing would be nice! Again, if condos weren't so close, they wouldn't be playing "in their back yard".
There's just too many options in Orlando for me to play this course again, but I would possibly if it made sense based on where I was staying. I would probably just pay more and play at the Legends--which is in much better shape and is actually more forgiving since the fairways aren't lined with condos.
Great deal
This was the first time myself and my playing partner had played this course having played several others in the Orlando area and were very impressed with quality and layout of the course with lots of tight driving holes and water to test the best of players most enjoyable we will be going back to play again
Fair course, fun to play
Course was in very good condition tee to green. Good selection of tee boxes to challenge all level of players. It's a regular stop when we're in Orlando.
Overated
This course does not meet the hype. Esthetically unpleasing except for a few holes, sparse and dormant grass, and most of all, slow play predominate. Play in the afternoon when the rates go down.
short course
Conditions were average. Back tees short and fairways wide. Lots of layups off the tees. Back tees recommended for 14 or less hdcp. Not at all picturesque. Only paid 35 so it was barely worth it. Could have paid 25 elsewear and had a better day. "Bevie" girl was nowhere to be seen after 3.
Save your money
First and only time we'll play here. Resort course. Many holes lined by condo buildings. Course in generally poor condition. Dry and void of grass in many areas. Greens only fair. No GPS on carts and no course maps/ hole diagrams on score cards or at tee boxes. Asked starter and he said nothing available. Just hit and take your chances on any hazards you can't see or distance to those you can see. Few yardage markers. Very slow play. Waited on every tee making it a 5 hour round. Score card speaks to slow play and says course rangers will issue warnings for slow play. Never saw a ranger in 5 hours. Poor value even at discounted green fee of $55.
First time
Great time. Course was in fairly decent condition considering the winter we had. Great value.
Save your money...
Resort course with many of the holes lined by townhouses and condo buildings. Fairways and rough in fair to poor condition. Greens fair. No GPS on carts and we realized at hole #1 that the scorecard had no hole diagrams. Nothing at tee boxes either. Asked starter if they had course map but he said none exists. So you just hit and take your chances on where hazards are. Despite scorecard claiming rangers monitor pace of pay and issue warnings, never saw a ranger and the round took 5 hours. Paid $55. Worth $25.
Solid course
Overall a solid course. Fairly difficult. Narrow fairways and water everywhere. Course was crazy busy. 4.5 hours and we had to leave 2 holes early. For $70 a round that's pretty frustrating. Plus I hate sitting and waiting for 20 min before you hit. Takes me out of my rhythm. If the course wasn't so busy would've liked it a lot better. Staff was great.
bad manners
The guy that loads you equipment on your cart (a short man with mustache and glasses, 55 ish) is rude everytime I have been there !! Yesterday he told a foursome "'they should make up their mind'' , not sure that is the attitude that u should have to put up with as a paying customer !!! the course is average not long and the condition is ok !! I will play again !1
Not bad but not great
There was a jr tournament played ahead of us and we were not notified of this through golf now. Didn't find out till we arrived at the course. First five holes were bad and then after that it was good. I would not pay full price for this course.
Good Course
This was only my 8th round of golf so I was little worried as I tend to slice alot of my drives on the first few holes, and it is an extremely tight course (for me) with houses sometimes on both sides of the fairway. The course lay out was nice, and I played my best round of 109, some really nice par 3's with the green being right next to a water hazard...I got a par! The greens were not consistent, some were fast and others slow, it was hard at times to judge.
Great Course for a Good Price
This was my first time playing golf In Florida and I really enjoyed this course. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. The only downside was that they had just sanded the greens. Overall it was a great experience.
Great value at player friendly course
I play this course every time I'm in the orlando area
It's very player friendly with wide fairways and very interesting approach shots to large greens I highly recommend to any level of golfer
Good golf challenge
This is not a long course but it is narrow on some holes making you have to place your shot or get into trouble! The is a good golf challenge at a reasonable price.
Good course for the price
Nothing bad to say it was very good the rough is too easy...
tourist trap
Course was severely overbooked. at one point there were 4 groups on 1 hole. there was never less than 3 groups per hole. I live in a resort area and understand that occasionally courses can overbook tee times but this was over the top ridiculous and inexcusable in my opinion. We paid $80 a head (for a course that should be just above a muni in price) for an 5 1/2 hour round of golf.
Poor shape, needs TLC
Nice people working there, but course maintenance needs attention. Grass must be dormant but needs to be cut. Sand traps needed attention. Charging $7, $10 and $12 for range balls excessive.
Won't be returning.
Fun Time
No picture of the hole on the card or at the tee. Kind of frustrating. The smartphone app they recommend is not that great.
