The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Great course for a great price!
The course could easily play difficult for a high handicapper but nicely rewards straight shots! Greens rolled very true and where receptive! I would recommend this course for anyone who asked and will be back to play it again soon.
Course recently Aerated
Had a great time even with the aeration! Very nice course and one of the tighter resort style courses (requiring accurate shots) in the area.
Course is challenging
Nice course, very challenging, landscraped nice.
If you love a challenge, then this is one course you should play..
My husband and I played this course, we enjoyed it, did have some very challenging holes, we would play it again if the price was right.
This course has nice soft greens, and wonderful views
The course is set in a wildlife reserve. As your playing you get to see natures beauty with every swing. We saw cranes, ducks, and even an alligator on the first tee! :) The course it's self is fairly open with a few tight spots. It is a shot makers course. If you can fire them in close, then you have a great shot at scoring low, because the greens stick like glue. These greens helped me shoot one of my lowest scores of the week. This is a wonderful course I would recommend to anyone.
Good Layout But Pricey
I played this course on an aerification special. I liked the layout of the course and it was well maintained. The course has a good look to it(scenic) even with the tourist villas that line the fairways. A number of those villas had residents hanging out on the patios so get used to playing in front of a gallery! I wouldn't play this course on their normal greens fees which border $100. Check Golfnow.com for discounted fees. I haven't played the other Orange Lake courses, but I'm sure that they will be as enjoyable as the Reserve. Enjoy....
Great price, aerated greens
The course was overall in great shape. Was aerated appx 2 weeks prior so greens still rough but very playable. Fairways great shape. Staff very friendly, Cart girl, Sonia very friendly and was around frequently.
Bad
The green were some of the worst greens I have ever seen. Not worth the time or money. But the Legends course is very well maintained.
This course was challenging.
Course had some.challenging holes and.hazards. Staff was very friendly and.helpful. signs.of aeroation but this was explained before play. Would definately play here again. A few more ball washers would be helpful.
The reserve
Good course for the golfnow price. Would recommend it.
This is a beautiful course with great features and challenges
A excellent course, in great condition. Course management is they key to a low score, it really makes you think, great fun.
Water and sand aplenty
Water on many holes laced with large bunkers and waste areas
Lost a lot of balls but had a blast.
Nice course. Lost a lot of balls but still fun. Course is well maintained. Greens in nice shape and run true. Staff not too friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Orange Lake Reserve-Relaxing yet fast round--Perfect
Very nice course-not too difficult. They do charge a $15 rider fee even when booked at end of day and it's not busy. It is my wife's favorite course to ride around with me. Other than the usual 100 and 150 yard markers in the fairway, there are no other distances. I personally had trouble deciphering pin placement. Colors appeared about the same to me. Value is very good [provided no rider], but, I do like to play it in the off season when I have less than 3hrs to get around. Hope this helps.
Easy Course, Nice look and fun to play
Overall, the course was nice and well maintained but the speed of the greens varied... Scoring from the back tees was relatively easy. Fun!
Challenging Hazards
13 holes have water or swamps. Holes with less water usually have a large trap right in front of the green. So, be accurate or take a lot of balls. Course is well-maintained and good facilities. The golf academy has demonstrations on some afternoons-M,W.
They sell unhittable putting balls in the club house market. But the greens are already challenging enough. A lot of fast side/down hill putts. Very challenging. Good luck!
great mix of holes some short some long
tight lies make chipping around the greens very challenging
A good course to play on a Hot Deal
This is an easy course tee to green but the greens are good with plenty of slopes that make 3 putting a possibility on every hole. Always busy and lots of hackers and non golfers mean bunkers not raked and lots of unrepaired pitch-marks on greens. We were stuck behind a 5 ball until the course marshall split them! I wouldn't pay the full price to play this course.
