The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

despite receiving a ton of rain the course was in amazing condition great greens very very friendly staff. Amazing value for springtime!
I was skeptical because it was so inexpensive, staffed by friendly people that all seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Short but tight layout very good greens. I highly reccommend it as a great value for a resort course!
Second time playing this course and this time was better than the last.
A resort course that can be very challenging at times due to numerious water hazarods and out of bounds areas throughout.
Timing on this course is EVERYTHING
This was my second visit to Orange Lake's Reserve course, so just the fact that I returned tells you that I feel it is worth playing on a GolfNow.com Hot Deal for under $20. However, if you're like me...and pace of play is significant...then make sure you call ahead to see how busy the tee sheet is before making your online purchase. Since this property is located right in the middle of a vacation complex (If you're a Lost fan, you'll swear some of the buildings look like The Dharma Initiative), it can get quite a bit of play from people who have nothing better to do than spend 5+ hours over 18 holes. Honestly, if it wasn't for Shannon (the sassy cart girl with the neon shoes) and Mac (the friendly starter who admits even HE listens to Shannon), I would have left after playing three holes in 45 minutes and asked the pro shop for a raincheck. However, Shannon and Mac encouraged me to drive ahead to the back nine where I found a fast pace of play and made sure later in the afternoon I had actually completed all 18 holes and had a good experience. They saved the day, and because of them alone, I will return to play again...especially considering #8, #9, #11 and #18 are all Par 4's that can be reached with the right drive and wind conditions.
Great course....
The course overall was in excellent condition with only one exception,,,,some of the greens were a little harry and slow but nothing to really complain about. Pace of play was a little slow on the front but course ranger resolved those issues before we started the back. Overall it was a great day.
Course was outstanding
Would recommend, great views, awesome service and well maintained course
Enjoyable course to play, some good features and wild life.
Staff friendly and helpful. Course not long but just right for me. Some nice looking holes and plenty of wild life to see.
Greens good with some interesting putts. Fairways nice and rough not harsh.
Will play this course again.
Only downside was I had to pay 15 dollars for my wife to ride along, but as I picked up such a good deal was not so bad.
Easy to get around.
Starter and personal outside very nice. Kids running counter were you ck in not to much help.
Great Resort Course
Very friendly staff, course is in great condition. This is a nice, fun course to play. Relatively straight forward lay-out with some fun challenges along the way!
lots of water
the fairways seemed to always slope toward the water. the bunkers were statigically placed. the greens had several levels making for some big breaking puts
Nice course
Well maintained, fun to play. Good value for money. Have played here twice in the last couple of weeks and had a lot of fun both times. Better maintained than other courses in that price range that I've played.
try it
I havn`t played a lot of courses I`ve only been playing 5 years ,I heard people complaining about the condos on the course but if your a desent player they don`t come into play .would I recommed people to play yes would I play it again most deffently
greens in great shape
Landed in Orlando, picked up the rental car, and drove directly to the course. The Marketplace had Starbucks coffee, a selection of wines and beer, as well as a grill with reasonably priced food. Well fed, and no wait for our 1:30 tee time, so got right on the course without a warmup. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm a sporadic golfer and broke 100 on this course, so I'm assuming it's an easy course. The greens were undulating and moderately fast and in great shape. We paid $36 for greens fees, and I would absolutely return for that price.
enjoyed the course
One downsize to the course is no GPS or course layout so had no idea of where water hazards were until hit into them!!
need on cart gps.
Nice service, With a few blind landing spots we needed st least a picture of some kind of discription of the hole. Greens needed to be mowed or rolled. For the price it was nice.
Golf in a resort
This experience was somewhat lame. The course itself is ok, easy to play and worth the price (got a good discount). The person at the counter was not polite and the junior's bag we rented was half for the left handed and half for the right handed.
Nice golf course but staff not very helpful.
While checking in at the pro shop I mentioned I was a single and asked if I would be paired with other players, I was told to see the starter. After putting my clubs on the cart, with no help from the staff, I was a little surprised that a resort course did not have GPS and there was a no course map or hole layout on the score card. As I gave my ticket the the starter I asked him if I would be paired with someone, his reply was "I don't have time to go to the tee and do that, just go out there and try to find someone to join up with." When I got to the first tee there was a foursome getting ready to tee off and they asked if I wanted to go ahead of them. One of them said there was a threesome ahead of them so I rode out in the fairway and asked if I could join them. They were very nice and said they would be glad to have me join them. We saw the beverage cart for the first and only time on #7 which was actually okay with me since the charged $2.25 for a 75 cent candy bar. We waited to hit on most holes and did not see a marshal until #13 when one came around and tried to be funny saying we needed to pick up the pace. After he laughed, he did say he had told the group in front of us to pick up the pace. After a round that lasted almost 5 hours I returned to the club house, removed my clubs from the cart and carried them around to my car with no offer of help from any of the 5 or 6 staff members standing around doing nothing. Would I recommend this course, yes and no, it is a nice, well maintained, very playable course but, the staff was useless almost to the point of being rude.
Nice course, well maintained, lukewarm reception by staff
Course is well maintained, speed of play was excellent.
Fair value for the money.
In good shape. Some holes are lined by suites that appear to be too close but they rarely affect play.
Good value for a game of golf.
This was a good course for the money. We played early and the pace was fine. Some shorter holes but in general, enough variety.
Enjoyable course
Course is very playable for all levels of golfer, conditions could be better but still a good value for the price paid.
Will definitely go back.
