Rogers Park Golf Course
About
Located only minutes away from downtown Tampa, Rogers Park Golf Course offers easy access to Tampa International Airport and also the beautiful beaches of Tampa Bay. Although it has a convenient location near many attractions, it is secluded from the noise of busy streets and neighborhoods since the Hillsborough River almost completely surrounds it. The scenic golf course has water hazards coming into play on several holes and there are sand bunkers throughout. In addition to the course, Rogers Park is known for their extensive practice facilities. They boast of having one of Tampa's finest driving ranges and their three-hole course provides excellent short game practice.

Above average for the Bay area/price
I've played a few courses around the Tampa area and was rather impressed with Rogers Park. The greens and the fairways were in good shape. There were some spots that looked like they could have used a trim. Some of the tee boxes did need some work, but overall this course was above average especially for the Tampa Bay area courses, in addition to its price. There were a few walkers on the course and some beginners that slowed the pace down a little. But if you wanted to play through it was no problem. We weren't in a rush so we stayed back. I would go back, no question. Course condition was very comparable to Bloomingdale, but half the price!
Love the openess of the course.
The course offers a variety of challenges which are more than adequate for my level of play.
1st time in 20 years
Have lived in Tampa for 20 years and never thought to play there despite living not too far away. Saw a great deal on Golfnow. Was very pleasantly surprised. The design of the course is very very good. The greens could be (if they wanted and did some maintenance) the toughest in Tampa. They are sloped and difficult. The course is average to below average for maintenance but the greens and the design bring it way up above average. I will actually go back again. If the city put in some money it could be one of the best courses in Tampa. And I have played almost all the private and resort courses.
Needs some TLC
The tee boxes and cart paths need some attention. The fairways were in decent shape. Most of the greens were in good shape and were fast, but soft enough to hold a short iron shot. It had a few challenging risk-reward holes. Be sure to use the appropriate tees for your game to make it enjoyable. This was a decent course for the money.
Alligators, birds, water hazards and yet open enough on windy day can be challenging
Course is one of the oldest municipal courses in Tampa. It has more length and openness than either of the other two City courses. Challenging yet fun.
Nice layout and cold water stations
The majority of the greens are in good condition but a few were a bit rough with sand on it. Lots of leaves in the fairway making it a bit timely to find your ball.
We had a good time playing this course. The view is great and the large alligator on the 16th peeked our curiosity. The price from GolfNow makes it a great deal.
Challanging course, nice greens with some difficulty.
just as stated above....value made nicer by booking in Goilfnow...
Fun course
We were behind a foursome in which one was coaching another player. By the 2nd hole, they were behind approximately 1 1/2 holes, I called the golf shop to ask for a ranger, they sent someone out right away.
Seldom see this happening on other courses.
Good layout with fast greens with difficult pin placements
For the money a very good course which was well maintained. Greens were fast and the pin placements made you work hard to score well. Enjoyed the round and would play the course again.
Course is in good shape
I have played this course many times and this was the best condition I have seen in a very long time.
Don't bother
More of a playground than a golf course. When my group was on the course there was a junior program of about 15 kids in front of us who were painfully slow. When we tried to start off the back instead the staff was extremely rude. The course is in shambles, and overall this was probably the worst golf experience in my life.
Great overall layout
I consider this course a diamond in the rough. One of the best values for the price. I've played there around 3 times so far, and the only thing I had an issue with initially was green speed. When I played yesterday, however, they were in much better condition and rolling fast. Staff is also very friendly, which I can't say for all of the courses in Tampa.
Great Atmosphere among golfers.
The staff is great. The course is awesome and golfers considerate of others.
Course OK, major staff issues
Apart from some landscaping that caused a par 4 to become a temporary fairway par 3, the course was in good shape. Decent greens, decent sand traps. Tee boxes could use some work though. Most of the holes are very straight and slightly shorter than average, so it's not too difficult.
However, be wary of the staff. My group was repeatedly belittled by staff members jumping around to play random holes (My group let them play through twice because they kept getting ahead and looping back) in basketball shorts and t-shirts yelling at random. I was mocked for being "lazy" for not returning my nearly-dead golf cart to the clubhouse myself during my round. This has never happened to me anywhere else.
Management was vary attentive to my complaints and immediately issued free rounds for my group, so management is not the problem. Regular staffers really shed a poor light on this otherwise decent course.
Fun municipal type course
10:00 Tee time. Found a nice price. In better condition than Willowbrook GC, Bartow GC, Lake Orlando GC. Tight tree lined. Back 9 w/ cool but difficult layout. Tee boxes & fairway were fairly plush. Greens were in good condition & rolling fast for a muni course. Will play again for bargain price deal.
