Grand Ridge Golf Club
About
Grand Ridge Golf Club is tucked away in the swamplands of St. Charles Parish, La. This scenic course is dappled with towering cypress trees and ancient oaks draped in moss. There are enough challenges on the golf course to keep the beautiful backdrop from being too distracting though. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes and the tight fairways are lined with trees. You'll need to have accurate drives in order to put you in a good position for the approach to the equally challenging greens. The golf course is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Grand Ridge Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 15th. This tough 515-yard hole starts off with a tee shot over a pond up a narrow, tree-lined fairway.

When I was signing in at pro shop a staff member (who was not waiting on us ) ask how much did GOLFNOW charge us after he heared we booked online. Which I found was very strange. Later that same guy came out to confront us about going around and play again. When we first started, we were playing #2 when the mowers were cutting the greens and asked us if we could play the back nine first not wanting to hold them up we did . So after 18 we started on the front again when Mr. Back in time came out. As a 60yr old black man I felt like we weren’t all that welcome. Will not be going back.
Greens are good but that’s about it
Grand ridge is a cool course to play
Greens were awesome
But fairways were very hard with literally no grass on most of them.
Shame cause this course could be great cause the staff are pretty friendly, and overall nice club for the price, just tough if you’re looking for lush fairways
Cousre needs attention
The fairways and tee boxes were in poor condition, the course needs some attention. The greens were not to bad but could also Use a bit of work. Over all the layout of the course was decent and presented a good challenge throughout the round.
Fairways need work. Bad Fairways.
Fairways need work. Bad fairways. Slow greens ok. Need grass in fairways. Nice course layout.
Will be great once construction is completed
Three buddies and I just wanted to get a round in during the holiday weekend and the course was above and beyond what we expected for the price. 90% of the tee boxes and greens were in pretty great shape even with a coupe days rain ahead of our play date. Once the drainage and sand trap construction of this course is complete I think this course will be added to my regular courses visited. There is also a irons only driving range at this location. Overall had a great time.
Getting better
Somebody is putting money into this course. Greens were great. New bunkers and grass around some holes. Challenging course with narrow fairways and water in spots. Will play again.
Great course!
I’ve seen some of the whining about this course and don’t get it. Yes, the fairways need a bit of work, and there is drainage improvement on going, but the course is beautiful and peaceful. Incredibly scenic place and, unlike some other clubs, the local folks were busy about the clubhouse decorating and whatnot. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Only negative is how many balls I lost in the water!!! That’s on me of course! Definitely worth the drive. I’ll be back there tomorrow for another round.
I love this course
I have been playing Grande Ridge for several years now. It is usually never crowded in the afternoon and the some of the narrow fairways are quite challenging.
The course has had some drainage work done lately that was badly needed. I will continue to play there as it is one of the best deals in the New Orleans area.
Glove this course but...
The course doesn't drain well..lots of mud and water on course after several straight sunny days
Grand Ridge, ole Willowdale
Excellent! I used to belong to this course when I lived in the Nola area before Hurricane Katrina. Everything came back to me! Great layout, course was in great shape and the greens are as good as I remember. I would have given excellent all the way, but the sand traps are under repair. When they finish with the traps this course will be excellent all the way around! I would recommend this hidden gem again!
Descent course.
The course is laid out nicely. Some of the greens are in bad shape but they are working on them to make them better, so I can live with that. They are working on holes 3 and 4 putting in drain lines or something like that. All and all a good course. If you are long and straight off the box this is the course for you.
Tough but enjoyable
Very tough course but it gave you enough breathers to enjoy its subtle challenges. Loved the 150 markers... very original and cool!
Nice but needs some TLC
The course was well layed out and the staff was super friendly. But it seemed like the course needed a cut. The fairways were pretty rough. Sand traps were overgrown. A lot of puddles. It could be a really nice course if it had alittle more TLC. But it wasn't horrible. I will go back. Food was good as well at the restaurant.
Needs a lot of work
Course needs a lot of work - its what it is need a lot of work . Greens patches on most and very slow . Had to stay on cart path on back nine was not fun - they where working on the course . I will not go back this year maybe in a year or so they will get the course ready .
The course has improved tremendously lately. The greens are really good, now. They are working on their drainage right now. This course is challenging and beautiful.
Grand Ridge
The course is tight and has a lot of water hazards. The staff were very welcoming and glad to have you. I will play there again.
Mystic Creek Experience Stay & Play Package
They are working on the drainage right now. I played yesterday and they had a crew working on drainage ditches. The greens were super!
