Too tricked out for me
Friendly staff here for sure. Very accommodating. Front nine was pretty nice but back nine was SO tricked out it got monotonous. Way too much target golf and do or die shots off the tee. Conditions were just ok even for this time of year. I much prefer second shot courses for their toughness but that’s not this place. I’ll pass next time. Too many better choices in the Williamsburg area.

Soggy Conditions Dampen An Otherwise Solid Experience
It had been a year or two since my last visit to Kiskiack. The GolfNow deal (and GolfPass perks) finally drew me in from Richmond to play.
The course layout is about as good as I remember. Aside from a few holes that feel like a repeat of the ones next to them there's a good mixture here of longer and shorter holes that offer different approach options (spoiler alert: I went for the driver on all of them).
My favorite hole remains the shorter par-4 10th, though I also have an affinity for the par-5 18th and the par-3 17th. Each of them are picturesque and offer a fair and rewarding challenge.
Conditions the day I played were a bit lacking. Yes, it had rained the day before but large puddles in every bunker is a disappointing sight (as is the large-grit sand in them) and it's clear that generally the course struggles to drain well. The greens appear to be recovering from aeration quite well and are generally smooth. I did struggle quite a bit with pace as the downhill putts can get away from you while the uphill putts never seem to have enough juice to get to the hole.
Staff and amenities are both satisfactory. Holes were converted with upside down cups and golfers were encouraged to single-person cart it or walk for everyone's safety. It did appear that ball washers were in use though I simply used a wet towel to wipe off my muddy ball after each hole.
For the price I struggle to find much to complain about here, but perhaps an investment in course drainage (and sand) would warrant a higher greens fee and make the course stand out a bit more.
All things considered, I'd still rather play Colonial Heritage which has nicer conditions and is rarely crowded. But if you are looking for a less daunting challenge, you may prefer it here instead and overall this remains a solid choice for any golfer.

Kiskiack Golf Course
The staff are super friendly. It's been wet lately so it's not anyone's fault the course is a little rough. I think it's a great layout and challenges any level of golfer.

Course getting better
Played here about 3-4 weeks ago after the greens were aerated and they are looking a lot better. Same way with the fairways as the grass is coming in. Hope to be back out there again in a few more weeks.

Fantastic conditions
Kiskiack was in fantastic condition for this early in the golf season. 16 of us drove down from Richmond and had a great time. Looking forward to playing here again.

Kiskiak in early spring
One of my favorite courses. Only drawback was aerated greens.

Beautiful Scenery
Great place to play golf but the greens were aerated and like playing Plinko. Can't wait to play when it's back in full green and the greens are healed.

Giving them a break
My first impression to start this round (I’ve played here many many times over the years)) was that, like everyone else on the planet, the staff was stressed.
To the point of being almost rude. BUT, this is a strange time and everyone is one edge. I’ll even say my reaction to what could otherwise be normal conversations and tones may have been clouded by the stress we are all under.
Having said that, the accommodations felt safe and the round was enjoyable. Other than the greens having been punched recently, it was a good day.
Individual carts, no-contact flag sticks, rakes out of bunkers (I was surprised to see divot sand still on the carts) made for a safe experience.
And it was 90° rule after a wet week......bonus.
All of this added up equaled the fastest round I ever played here. It is usually backed up on every hole. But this day went quick even though the course was very busy.

Great Place with Beautiful Scenery
Loved this course. The greens were not in great shape but they'll be back in a couple weeks. They were just aerated. Great layout and beautiful area.

Good condition
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was fast for first four holes, then caught up to another twosome. Twosome I front of them and a foursome. Okay pace for the next 14 holes. Still finished 18 in under four hours.
