Ocotillo Golf Club - Blue/White
About
Ocotillo is a one-of-a-kind golf spot in a state full of top golf spots, and the four-star golf course is suitable for both golf upstarts and old-timers.
Ocotillo's Blue Course is a watery grave; water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. It's not overly long but there's so much water the length becomes irrelevant. The best hole may be No. 1, a 590-yard par 5. Big hitters are faced with the classic risk-reward: Do they lay-up on their second shot or try to fly a tributary that splits the fairway about 50 yards short of the green?
The White Course is the most unique of the three. It has only one par 5, and the water is a factor on just five of the holes. But it also has the best hole on the property -- the 479-yard, par-4 ninth, which used to be an easy par 5 but is now a treacherous finishing touch.

Ocatillo
Beautiful course, all the water and birds add to the round of golf, play it every time we are in the Chandler area, it is a very challenging course as well.
Nice but Furry
Phoned club ahead of time to inquire which 9’s we were playing. Were advised Blue/Gold. Perfect as white was cart path only and that’s painful. Starter gets us going - you’re playing Blue/White! Ahh no pro shop said Blue/Gold. Then starter advises he has been working there for a decade and it’s Blue/White. Have played Ocltillo a dozen times and might have seen Gold twice. White was painful - rough was inches deep. Group ahead of us searching for balls 100 yds straight off the tee box. Grass is lush - get the mowers out. Massive bird problem and what they leave behind. 100’s in one spot at a time. Shoes were gross after. White Hole 8 green front right bunker full of seeded grass. No sand. Bunkers generally poor, no sand. Lovely place to play but avoid White nine at all costs.
Great condition, overseed done well
The course was in pristine shape. We played gold/blue and it was absolutely in amazing shape. Myself personally, do not like the fact that I can’t hit driver often on this course due to the layout and course management but outside of that. The course is in stunning shape.
Great layout, but have the bunkers been forgotten?
Ocotillo is a nice layout. I have played the course several times. Why has the course maintenance personnel completely ignored the bunkers? The bunkers are like concrete. They haven't been raked in literally months. Many of the bunkers have grass growing in them. Its disappointing.
Ocotillo Golf Course
The course was in very good shape despite this being over seed season here. The fairway grass was a bit long and the greens were the slowest I've played on for quite awhile. Gorgeous course. My wife and I really enjoyed it and will definitely play there again.
Great price for a great course
Still great, but because of work for the upcoming winter, Gold was had heavy/very slow green and high rough, and White was very fast greens
Overseeding
The course was overfeeding. There web site said one nine was closed for overfeeding and the other two were open for play. The Blue course had been overseeded. The Gold had been done last week. It was our first nine. Grass was long, tough to get the ball to the hole on the greens. Tough to find the ball if you were off the fairway. The white course was the back nine, it had been powerraked and was ready for overseeding fairways and greens were very fast made for a tough adjustment. Driving range and practice area were closed. If we had known about the condition of the course and the driving range being closed we would of played elsewhere until they had everything in playing condition. Golf should of been a lot cheaper.
Close the coarse when overseeing or cut the ptice
I don’t know where Ocotillo golf club gets off charging $70 on a golf course that is being over seated. Front nine new grass was coming in. Could not drive on the fairways. Greens very slow. Back nine should not of even been in use was being cut back in it at the time. Mounds of grass everywhere. Just total garbage. Should’ve been closed
Total bait and switch
Course was being reseaded not worth play would not have played if known that Total rip off! Nobody should even be allowed to play when course is dead. Most courses say they are going down to re seed bait and switch can believe golf now would alllow this
