SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.

The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.

After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

Challenging

Good golf course. Many opportunities for par or birdie, but plenty of holes where you can make a big number. Need to be careful!

Great course...a wonderful secret in the desert

I played and it was fantastic. Some good risk vs reward holes. Beautiful scenery, staff is fantastic.

Pace of play is ok. If you play in afternoon the sun is in your eyes on some of the back nine. Not a bad problem to have, too much sun. Greens are fast, some are a bit bumpy only because it is early in season and have been sanded.

Bunkers are in great condition with lots of fresh sand and pot belly so they are tough.

Lots of difficult lies in the fairway with uphill and down hill ball strikes which adds to the challenge. This

Is not a resort course but a real combination between a traditional desert and links style corse.

It is a wonderful experience and I recommend it. Ohm on weekends they have live music too! So plan to stay for the 19th hole...

Late October afternoon golf

Great service from bag drop to departure! Ice cold water in coolers for you, golf range with unlimited balls, Marshal was informative and friendly Lots of water and washrooms on course. Views... words and pictures do not do justice. Had supper on patio after. Food was great. Had the shrimp pasta and burger and all were fantastic.

Pace of play was great. felt like we had the whole course to ourselves. Well groomed and greens were receptive. It was cart path only but still worth the play. Can’t wait to return!

Great value

We had a beautiful day at Sunridge. Clubhouse and staff were great. Course was in very good conditions with the greens rolling fast and true. The course is scenic with lots of desert trouble. The last 6 holes are the toughest and most scenic.

Heard Great Things and They Were True

Had a great day and experienced first rate people from the bag crew to the desk personnel to the starter. We played after overseed so the course condition rating is seasonal. I am sure it is first rate in a month. I will note the bunkers were some of the best I have seen in the desert. Very nice sand in all of them. Highly recommend everything.

It required a lot of walking as it was rough only. By the end of the day was tuckered!

One concern was a fivesome we ran into on the back. Played the front in under 2 hours but went to 2 1/2 on the back. Surprised to see a fivesome here.

Was my first time and was very impressed. Will be back

Nice course, better hit it straight

Played SRC on 10/11. The course was cart path only. I used my WeKoPa pass which got me a preferred rate of 65$. Pace of play was slow. I teed off at 1:45 and had a hard cutoff at 5:30. Had to call it a day after 15 holes. it’s a very unique layout. You really need to be straight off the tee, or you are in for a long round. As for the course, winter rye is coming in nicely. The fairway stripes are back. The rough was still a mix of some thick Bermuda with rye filling in, in other places. The rough is thick, stay out of it. The greens were decent. A little lumpy on a couple holes, but solid for the most part. The wicked 6 is just that. I’ve played SRC three times now and this sequence has eaten my lunch every time.

Busy season

So, we hit the start of the busy season which means it's pretty well monitored to insure the pace is consistent. No complaints about staff or facilities. The course ran about $114 and compared to other nicer courses in the area, that was a but high. Good target would be $85 to $95. Other than that fun course.

Course solid...Greens Awesome!

In my opinion, on of the most enjoyable courses in AZ. Greens were in great shape. Course closes tomorrow for 2 month shut down for improvements. So glad we caught it when we did. Price was right, and staff was awesome as usual. If you are visiting AZ this is a fantastic course to play to get a taste for an Arizona course. Views are a real treat on multiple holes. If your wondering if the price to play here is worth it, you won’t be dissapointed

Solid addition to our summer roster

Enjoyed playing here for the first time. Very challenging track, especially from the gold tees. Friendly staff from the cart guy who greeted us at the parking lot, front desk guy and starter/marshal. Only hiccup was the hidden fee of $6/water bottle (x2) that wasn’t disclosed up front. We found out about the fee when we checked our receipt after we started our round. That annoyance aside, overall a solid course that’s worth returning to for a revenge round.

Must play

This course is in great shape for this time of year. Soft greens that run true and very little burn anywhere on this course. Is it a little pricey, yes, but you definitely get what you pay for. SunRidge has it together for sure. Playing here again real soon.

Must play course in Scottsdale (Fountain Hills)

Such a great course and staff. I’ve played many of the “higher end” courses here in the valley and this one is up there with the best of them, but more affordable.

The staff was exceptional. The course was in great shape. The Wicked Six is just that, WICKED! And the greens were as true as they can be.

The course is extremely challenging! But fun. I played poorly for myself today, but the course was fair. This place is going in the rotation for sure.

Definitely recommend this course any time of the year. Go check it out!

extra charges

We booked a round for my wife and I on monthers day since it was mothers play free. We paid cash for our round and then went to the driving range. within 30 minutes on the practice range, it started to rain so we went in to get a refund but were told that we could only get a credit for the money we gave him. I had to book another round a week later but had to pay the full price thru golf now plus a water surcharge of $13.00 that no one told us about. The proshop gave us a lame excuse that all courses charge the water surcharge fees and offered no discounts. Nice course but like to rip off out of towners as much as they can. I won't be going back.

Amazing Course and Experience!

Sunridge Canyon is an amazing golf course in the Phoenix area. One of the most scenic courses you can play in the area! The course is in excellent conditions. Greens were perfect and the new bunker renovation just adds more to this already great golf course. Highly recommend checking out this gem!
