SunRidge Canyon Golf Club
About
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.
The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.
After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

Not in good shape yet.
I think that they opened this course too soon. The tee boxes are not in good shape. The winter grass needs some time... Overall the course is in poor shape.
Excellent and challenging
Fun course with lots of elevation change especially on the last 6 holes which go significantly uphill, making them very challenging.
Nice place to play, couple of glitches.
One of the nicer places to play in the Phoenix area but out in Fountain Hills so take that into account. Today there was a shortage of carts so we had to be driven to the range and wait for a cart to become available 15 minutes before tee time. Also, I had called about overseeding and was told that had been done back on the third but did not tell me that it was cart path only and I hate the surprises.
exellent condition after re-seeding
Cart path golf but for good price on golf now nobody complaint, great course conditions and nice rolling greens will play again soon....
Great Golf Course
Very challenging golf course with a variety of holes.
Course Rating
I played from the white tees and the course rating is very low from those tees. I play at lot (110 rounds so far this year) This rating should be at least 70 from those tees with the slope at 126.
First Time at SunRidge Canyon.
We were greeted at the bag drop with a pleasant staffer who got our information and had our bags waiting for us on a cart. The pro shop was well stocked and the professional staff was pleasant and efficient with checking us in. It was the first day after over seeding so some of the rough was a bit long. Overall the golf course condition was great and design was interesting. The golf course really does run through the canyon and makes for some interesting golf holes. The cart had an updated GPS system that gave you a recommendation on how to play each hole when you arrived at the tee area. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone to play.
Outstanding
What a fantastic facility this is. very enjoyable. Highly recommend it. Staff is fantastic too.
Good summer condition
Excellent summer condition for Phoenix. Took two golfers that never player there before and they were impressed with the course and the good conditions. We will all be gong back to play again next month.
Breath taking views
The course has beautiful views and lots of wildlife to enjoy while playing. I personally found the course difficult, but I would suggest playing the course and experiencing it for yourself.
One of the Top Courses in Arizona!! Great Value!!
This was my first time playing SunRidge Canyon what a course!!! The course was just beautiful, extremely well maintained. The practice facility was excellent the staff was very friendly. Front nine is much easier then the back nine. When you see the sign “Wicked Six” be ready for a challenging six holes. The 17th is a par 3 it was playing 207 yards what a unique hole, my favorite hole on the course. Each hole was difficult in its own way most greens were elevated it seem that I use my flop shot more on the course than any other that I have played in a long time. Great GPS system!! Had a great time playing this course!! To bad they are closing the middle of July and will not reopen until mid October.
great track!
The course is in great shape and highly recommend playing at least once. The GPS feature on the cart is very helpful for 1st time players. Get out there now because they shut down for the next few months to make some renovations.
Great course overall
Tee boxes had been aerated but otherwise course was in great shape. Green rolled nicely. GPS is fantastic. Pace of play was slow especially on back nine as there was a five some. Did not see a ranger after the fifth hole. Final six holes are difficult
Scenic course
Received a great deal here.... Arizona summertime rate. Course was in excellent condition. At 104 degrees and high humidity, it was definitely hot.
Favorite Course
I make it a point to play as many courses as I possibly can in the Phoenix area, and this was my favorite experience, so far! Very pretty course, that has alot of bite to it. I played from the tips. Hitting good, solid, ACCURATE drives is a must. If you don't, your day will be a long one. Bunkers-a-plenty, but fairly placed. Greens are generous, with plenty of undulations. Not crazy-fast, but not slow, either.
Tough Course the First Time You Play It
Lots of hidden problem areas that aren't readily apparent to first time players. GPS instructions help, but aren't totally accurate. Course has a lot of character, but not a good course for high handicappers.
The Wicked Six are Truly Wicked
This course was beautiful. My boyfriend and I love playing true mountain courses that are very natural and true to the surroundings. This was one of the most beautiful courses I have played. Each hole was difficult in its own sense, from elevated greens that have a steep slope down, to slanting fairways, this course has it all. There are a few short par-4's that I almost drove the green (from the reds) and a few LONG par-5's that have some desert in the middle and require you to lay up. Each cart is equipped with a gps system which was incredibly handy and very useful! The last 6 holes are referred to as the wicked-six and they are definitely wicked. Long holes, sloping fairways, and blind dog-legs. I must have gone through about 2 sleeves of balls during this one round, but it was very worth it. I will definitely be playing here again.
Fun golf course
Fun course on a hot summer day. First time for me and found the course to be fair and challenging. I played the white tees and the course is very playable from these tees. Yes, the wicked six are tough holes that are up the hill and into the wind but are very manageable for mid level players and above.
Course is in great shape. Staff and cart girl were smiling and provide good service.
Highlight of day was one of our group had an ace on number 17. Good fun!
tough but fair
Had fun, very challenging. I know why they call 13-18 The wicked six.All uphill elevated greens. FUN!
