SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.

The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.

After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

Great layout

This is a terrific layout making you think about each shot. There are very few "bombs away" holes. The wicked six are a great stretch of finishing holes. We played 2 weeks prior to them shutting down for the summer and it played firm and fast on the fairways while the greens were still very receptive. Greens are grainy and require some getting used to, ask the starter about the mountains influence prior to playing

Average golf course.

Golf course was fine but timing of the season might have not been good as the golf course was dry and the ground was hard. Good service by the staff.

Fantastic views, great mix of challenge and fun!

The course layout is spectacular! Good mix of good scoring and super difficult holes (Wicked 6). Greens were not in good condition. Bald and uneven. Course should have informed prior to play beginning. Great mix of elevation and views! Will love to play several more times. Highly recommended! Staff was super friendly!

Couse Needs Attention, Staff is super nice.

The couse is real dry, needs to be watered and better maintained for being only MAY. They did say they were going to do major work on it this summer as they will be closed most of the summer. other than that it wasn't worth the price for its condition at this time! check back on it next year.

Great layout going bad...

Not a fan of the changes. Lost the cool desert shots. Conditions were way below past years.

This can be one tough track

A very challenging course to play , was getting quite dry which made it harder to play and land balls. Very reasonably priced for the difficulty of course, would definetley play this course again in different time of season, can be very hard.

Needs Watering and Weeding

Played Wednesday morning. Great hat no one in front of us other than a few singles so pace was great. Course is very brown on most holes with weeds in tee box areas. Not what I expect from a course of this caliber.

First Time playing this course

Keep the ball in the fairway. Long hitters leave your driver in the car. Lots of placement shots and OB mean climbing down 30 foot ravines. Rugged ob but course is beautiful and challenging and requires placement shots and good club selection. Second time, I'll approach very differently.

This course is spectacular and extremely challenging.....the wicked six is tough at the end.

The course was in pristine condition, and was throughly enjoyable to play. It definitely rewarded you for good strokes and punished you if a mistake was made. My only negative comment was the par 5 up the hill (part of the wicked 6), where the flag was placed on a postage stamp size level....difficult hole with the uphill and then such a small landing area.

Nice course slow play ruined it for us.

Inadequate. Marshaling to keep speed up made it bad for lots of folks. Did not finish. Had to leave after 4 .5 hrs and 17 holes.
They say "normal pace" is 4.5 hrs.

Fun challenge...

Great day! Played with a couple who knew the course. Very helpful. Seems user friendly on the first 9 going down the canyon. Then you hit the wicked six. Challenging but lots of fun!

I love the layout of this course

I have played many courses in Scottsdale and this is in my top five. The layout is great, especially the finishing holes. It feels protected as it lays in a canyon and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The Bermuda was just growing in so the fairways were in the transition stage but still very playable. I will play this course again!

One of my favs on Scottsdale trip

This was one of my favorite courses on my Scottsdale trip.

Staff - Very nice from the bag drop, pro shop, and restaurant staff

Range - Good range, nice chipping area range, decent putting green

Course - Challenging course, the last wicked six where a great challenge. No gimmick holes. Not super tight, but you had to pay attention on tee shots. Good test.

View - Great views like other courses... there are houses on the course... doesn't distract though.

Food - Had a nice patio to eat on... got a burger... it was good and reasonable price.

Bottom line - add it to your list to play.

Great value, great views !!!

Greens were very good, and mostly, uniformly speedy ! Some bare, thin patches in fairways but very playable. Helps to have played here before as there are several blind shots unless you drive far up the fairway to get a better view.

Offensive price for the course condition!

Fairways were bare or hard pan. We were hopeful that each next hole would be an improvement, but none were. Staff admitted being aware of the poor conditions and even explained why, but why they would charge full price is beyond me and below standards for good customer relations. One of our group had played it in the past, when conditions were better and recommended our recent play, but what a disappointment.

I also resented the watchful eye of the rangers when it appeared that so few players were on the course!

The waitress at the outside bar failed to bring us a requested condiment and after apologizing, went on to fix drinks for two others before going back to the kitchen for the condiment, leaving our sandwich sitting uneaten for about 10 minutes.

Lastly I went to the pro shop with the intention of a couple pricey purchases, but no one was there to assist.

Perfect conditions on a good course

The pace of play was superb as we played as a twosome in just less than 3-1/2 hours. Scenic course with a very challenging finishing hole.
