About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Getting there
The course conditions have improved. But the pace of play was extremely slow. Tee off at 12:22 and made it in just before dark.
Nice quick round
Just my wife and I golfing, but the pace was great, done in just over 3 hours. Had a noon tee time and the course wasn’t super busy. As far as the course goes, they were fixing up some of the tee boxes that were worn thin and there were spots on some of the fairways that were also thin and dry.
Didn’t affect us too much. Sand traps had some soft sand in them, a couple were of course dry but also not too bad. Greens were nice, consistent throughout.Course has a range and putting and chipping area.

Great Layout
Love the layout of this course. Our unusual hot spring is taking a toll on this course, like others in the valley. Still, it was worth the cost, and I was able to tee of early and the course was wide open, finished in 2 hours, forty-five minutes.
Extremely friendly staff. Great course to play for under $100 in the winter. Very fairly priced. Good mix of challenging holes with some fairly easier short par 4s. Will play again.
Needs some urgent TLC
I grew up playing this course back when it was called El Dorado Lakes and through the introduction of Kokopelli. It used to be such a treat to play this course. The layout is fun and has some great challenges at times. However, in recent years it has been neglected. This is mainly the condition of the course decline as the staff has been great. I feel Kokopelli is only still in business because of location and the popularity of AZ golf, it is the "cheaper option" during an inflated golf season. They absorb the golfers looking for an alternative option at a great value.
Teeboxes were bare on the front 9 and most tee markers were missing the other half of the marker. There were bald spots all over the course and standing water throughout the round. They have let some of the beautiful lakes go without water making some of there most beautiful holes, basic. The carts need to be refreshed as they have been used/abused.
In summary, if you are driving by the holes that face a major street it looks nice, but you can expect all other holes that are not to be terrible, which frankly is ridiculous this time of year. Greenskeeper and management appear to only focus on marketing their visible holes and thats it. Greens on all holes were fair (even punched) but still rolled well. There are cheaper and well better maintained coures in the area - just difficult to get a tee time. There is a reason Kokopelli has availbility. It needs a lot of work and if you are an Arcis member, you probably should request a different course to be exchanged out for this one.
Nice but slow
The course is in good shape. The pace of of play was slower than it could have been, but there was no ranger on the course. Overall good time and would recommend playing here.

Considering the heat lately, can't expect lush fairways right now. Course is holding up, but showing signs of the heat.

Don’t not book on 3rd party apps
The course is super nice. The staff technically could be friendlier. They even spoke poorly about third-party apps when I asked “I’m pretty sure I booked 18” after they welcomed me with a “just for 9” while staring off into the office lights and they added “nope there’s no way you booked 18 for that price our client know that” as you book quickly to get a spot especially while at work it isn’t ideal. Word of the woe double check and cancel if it’s 9, not worth it. I was stuck behind a 5some the whole time.

Don’t book on golf now.
Course is in great shape. Bunkers were challenging carts were comfy plenty of shade throughout the course to avoid getting beat up by the sun. However book on golf now, my impression was it was for 18 should up at the course and was told it was for 9, killed the vibe. No point in setting filter and attempting to book quickly when the filters are ignored

Good value for what I pd through Golf Pass otherwise not . Greens were poor condition but the ball rolled pretty good .
