Kokopelli Golf Course

About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Could’ve been better
The course layout is interesting and fun. It’s not in the greatest shape tee to green. The greens were nice . Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was a single and they let me pop out ahead of everyone very early in the morning and I finished in 1 hour and 45 minutes. The price I payed was a little steep for the conditions. I believe this course should be priced around $50. I payed $85 on GN. To much. IMO.
Not the Kokopelli I remember.
The staff was friendly. There was no course Marshall, so the pace of play was slow. We waited on every hole. I hadn’t played Kokopelli in many years because I moved from away from Phoenix. I was very disappointed with the condition of the course. The mere is standing water from leaky sprinklers all over the course. There are bare patches of dirt on most holes. There used to ponds on the course, but those are all dried up, so only the weeds and dried palms are remaining in most places. I expected more after playing other Arcis courses. I don’t think I’ll be playing this course again for many years.

Hi Cdunn8888, thank you for sharing your feedback. DIRT!
when you pull in, you see #18 which is beautifully landscaped and green. Every other hole is dirt. Hard dirt. There is very little grass to be found in the fairways. Where there wasn’t dirt, there was mud. The sprinklers had clearly flooded the grassless course that morning. This would be ok, had we not paid $100 a piece after taxes and fees. The staff in the bar/snack shack and beverage cart were excellent, they were friendly and we enjoyed our food. Won’t return.

Thank you for your feedback, u314159768524. We’re glad you enjoyed the staff and food. We’re actively addressing these issues to ensure a better experience for our guests. Your input is invaluable in helping us improve, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.
Just okay
Course conditions so so and price reasonable for what you pay here this time of year. Not bad if you want to get a round in and swing your clubs.

Great course!
Kokopeli has plenty to offer golfers of all abilities. Their fairways are challenging, greens Are elevated, and in many cases will protected by San bunkers. The practice facilities are fine. There’s a driving range, a petting green, and a chipping area with a sand trap. They have no restaurant, but they offer a nice selection of sandwiches, with a full bar.. You can sit inside or outside. Staff members are great.

Thanks for the fantastic review, Lynn! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience at Kokopelli. Our team works hard to ensure all golfers have a great time, and it's wonderful to know you appreciated the facilities and our staff. We hope to see you back on the course soon for more rounds and sandwiches!
Wish I Didnt
Knew this place wasn't great going in, but heard it had improved. 3 or 4 of the holes are in pretty decent shape, but the rest were in rough shape. I'll give it to them, the fairways have improved. Greens were full of pitch marks, which is more on the golfers but it was really bad. Bev cart drove by 3 times before acknowledging us on the 11th or 12th hole. The round took over 5 hours, which was honestly the worst part.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Ry. We appreciate your feedback about the course conditions and service. We're committed to improving, and it's helpful to know where we fell short. We appreciate your comments about the fairways getting better. We are truly dedicated to making Kokopelli better and will continue to work on the course. Your comments on the greens and pace of play will be addressed with our team. We hope to provide a better experience next time you visit.
Don’t golf there on a Saturday!
Young men in the foursome in front of us were just painfully slow and the young men behind us were hitting into us, literally just missed hitting two of us.
The group in front of us ignored the cart path only signage, we waited on every single hole and they were playing best ball 🤦♀️. They were taking up to 9 practice swings ….

Thanks for your feedback, u314163678687. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with slow play and safety issues on the course. We strive to provide an enjoyable environment for all our guests. If this or any issue happens while you are here golfing, please give us a call in the Pro Shop and we will send a Player Assistant to assist with any issue we have on the course. We hope to see you again sometime soon!
Average all the way around
The pace of play was awful on the front 9 (about 245)and slightly better on the back (about 220) for over 5 hours on a course that should play 415 tops. The course has large dead spots and yet still has mud pits. The staff was friendly but sparse. Drink cart gone by 230p with people still teeing off. When we finished there was NO ONE in the clubhhouse. Had to access bathroom through the kitchen. THis course has potential but I wont be back until next year at least.

Thanks for your feedback, Gregbt. We sincerely apologize for the slow pace of play and the issues you encountered on the course. We're committed to improving our facilities and service, and your insights are invaluable in that process. We'll address the concerns you've raised to enhance the experience for our guests. We hope to welcome you back next year to show you the improvements.
