About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Don’t golf there on a Saturday!
Young men in the foursome in front of us were just painfully slow and the young men behind us were hitting into us, literally just missed hitting two of us.
The group in front of us ignored the cart path only signage, we waited on every single hole and they were playing best ball 🤦♀️. They were taking up to 9 practice swings ….
Average all the way around
The pace of play was awful on the front 9 (about 245)and slightly better on the back (about 220) for over 5 hours on a course that should play 415 tops. The course has large dead spots and yet still has mud pits. The staff was friendly but sparse. Drink cart gone by 230p with people still teeing off. When we finished there was NO ONE in the clubhhouse. Had to access bathroom through the kitchen. THis course has potential but I wont be back until next year at least.

Could be so much better
Really enjoyed the staff and the course has so much potential. Challenging greens in decent shape. But there is hardly any grass on the course. Way too much dirt Pace of play was super slow. Had to quit at 18 after 5 hrs plus on the course. Three groups on the hole. Never saw a marshal.

Very very slow play
Very very slow play, we waited at every hole. It took over 4 hours to play 15 holes and got dark. We did not get to finish

Played here the previous year. Like playing this course. Challenging for an intermediate player.

Still Needs Maintenance!
The “water” areas are garbage dumps. Neighbors are dumping construction materials in them, and the marshes and weeds are fully grown.. Pin placements were extremely difficult. And the condition of fairways was less than desirable.
The fee to play this course during the prime season in Arizona was less than desirable. It’s way overpriced when compared to other public courses in much better condition.

Beautiful layout
It is unfortunate that the lack of TLC or simply put love is lacking on this course. There are no ball washers as they where stollen during Covid and never replaced. Hence the green fee price.
Do not go by the pictures that are uploaded on the internet😩

Not what we expected.
Almost no help from staff was found. Cart was filthy and course in below average condition. The Cafe looked decent. Bucket of balls was $37 for 30!

Decent course for the money paid $62 for a 130 tee time . Don’t think I’d pay a whole lot more as course is pretty dry overall. Greens were excellent though and tee boxes were good shape just lotsa dry patches in fairways . Staff were friendly. Pace was slow on back nine. 4.30 round and didn’t play #18 there was a group playing very slow in front. Coulda used a Marshall just to keep pace up a bit but overall was a good experience

Frustrating start, overbooked mess, unorganized operation
Booked my time through golf now multiple days in advance for a solo 1:16 tee time. Got to the course with ample time, and to my surprise was rushed on to the tee box by the starter, as they moved my time to 1:07 without communicating. By the time I got the the tee box after being tossed around with my bag in my lap on the way there, my “group” had already teed off and was ready to run down the fairway. After holding up the 3 some I joined and getting to tee off we continued the round. Within 2 holes the pace of play was atrocious. With tee times every 9 minutes, we were held up on every tee box and fairway, and had a couple guys hitting into us behind us. By 13 this twosome of guys passed us up even though we were being held up by a foursome in front of our group, without even asking or letting us know. Old guy I was paired up with was upset enough to call the pro shop and they didn’t do a thing about it. Luckily we made the most of the round, but man was this an unorganized, over booked mess. Conditions were sub par
Staff was friendly, pace of place was great, layout was fine. The conditioning though for paying 97$ was to be desired.

Pass on this one
We thought it would be ok to spend a little less while warming up in the desert. Pass… rough is just dirt and fairways are a mess. Greens could be ok for some holes. Not worth $45 let alone close to $90. Pass..

Needs work
Greens, tees & fairways were good but don’t get off them. Rough and hazard areas poorly maintained and don’t give the course a very nice appearance. Only played because we just left the snow behind and the green fee was cheap.
