About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Ok but slow play.
Good value for the time of year. I was Ok with the course conditions as the greens and fairways were fair. Exception was hallmarks not being fixed on greens. More than just the occasional one. Not the courses fault but they could do a better job with emphasis. Teed off at 9:47 on a Saturday and experienced a 5 plus hour round. Waiting.every.hole. Gets old. Otherwise good layout, staff was great and decent practice facilities. I would go back but maybe on the weekday when the slow players are at work.
Bring a beach towel
The staff was amazing, the course lay out is fun but it’s so much bare land. Fairways are in great shape and green are acceptable but if you don’t hit the fairway it’s all open dirt. I don’t mean desert style golf but just bare dirt everywhere.
Kokopell
Course was very wet and muddy due to rain the night before. But mud has been there because of too many bare areas with no grass. The greens had way too many divots and it appears they don’t spend too much time on them.
We appreciate your feedback and understand that course conditions can be affected by weather. Our grounds crew works diligently to maintain the course, but Mother Nature sometimes has other plans. We’re committed to improving and hope you’ll give us another chance to show you a better experience. After all, golf is a journey, not just a destination!

All around it looks pretty decent still muddy in some areas. Greens were in good shape but nobody was replacing or fixing any of their dims pretty banged up for how much it gets paid. A little bit cheaper would be more worthwhile.

Too many rope off holes
Too many roped off holes fairways were wide and in good shape because you couldn’t drive on them
Good course and very nice employees
This is a good municipal style course. The staff is very friendly, carts are pretty beat up and if you are like us, we needed to get from the airport to a course by around noon to finish. This worked out perfect and when we had slight delay getting there they helped us by jetting group go in front of us so we could take our time.

I haven’t played the course in a while, but I opted to play it again because most of the courses in the area are drastically overpriced during the tourist season. I was pleasantly surprised that the course itself was in great shape. The tees, greens and fairways were quite nice. I was saddened to see that many areas around the fairways have not been kept up. The ponds were all dry and the common areas were overgrown or dirt. I have never seen worse mats at any driving range. The driving range mats at Kokapelli are disgusting. The Golf itself was good though, and the staff is friendly. I might venture out there again just because of the reasonable rates.

Bad course, horrible price.
The price is extremely inflated considering the course is in horrible shape. Play was slow, no marshals monitoring the course. Will never go back.

Great course, but watch out for events!
We booked a party of 4 tee time for a Sunday afternoon. Once we got on the course we discovered two groups of FIVE in front of us! Our pace of play turned into a torturous 5 1/2+ round of golf. We mentioned it to the ranger at the turn and he acted like he had no idea what we were talking about. It would've been nice if they had given us the option to go first, or if they are hosting competition, have them go at the end of the day, or keep it to groups of four! Especially because these guys were hitting from tips and it was laughable. Then putting took ages because they measured out EVERY putt. Very frustrating to be held up and treated like we dont matter. We play several times a week and you probably don't want to alienate regulars for mini tournament players. Will be a last choice to play there again.

6 hour round
They put a tournament out in front of us. 5 golfers in the foursome. Had to wait on all par 4s as they were going for the greens. Absolutely rude to do this Foursome is a foursome!

CART PATH ONLY ON PAR 3'S IS DECEIVING
When we started, we were told it was cart path only on 3 pars but were not told that many other holes were actually cart path only because they were staked off the full length of the fairway. We still loved playing the course but would have appreciated more specific information about having to stay on the cart paths for many holes.
