The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course
About
Located in the west valley, The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course (formerly known as the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club) is an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed golf course with a traditional layout. The challenging course has six lakes creating water hazards on many of the holes and several doglegs. The difficult to read greens are undulating and in excellent condition. Each hole, except for one, has bunkering on the fairways or protecting the greens. The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course's signature hole is the par-4, 426-yard fifth hole. It calls for a shot off an elevated tee with water running along the right side of the fairway as well as next to the green.

Nice gem
We enjoyed the course very much. Great layout, very challenging
Nice layout
Great golf course, the layout is very nice the greens are fast but true. Just a very nice place, I could easily be a member there and golf this one course forever.
Overrated and overpriced
I’ve played this course quite a bit over the years and recently the prices have been absurd. They price based off of location and not actual course quality.
Mediocre at best layout and design.
Course conditions on anything but tee boxes and fairways are poorly kept and poorly managed.
Pace of play is almost always an issue as they stack what they can. Money is their primary concern here.
Very Good Conditions, Terrible Pace Of Play
This course will turn private by the end of this year and be one of two courses as part of Arrowhead Country Club. The greenside bunkers were in excellent shape with fresh sand. There are a number of water hazards and many of the fairways slope toward the water areas. The tee time intervals are alternating seven and eight minutes. As a result, we had to wait on almost every shot. The pace of play was over four hours and thirty minutes.
Nice layout but rough around the edges
Nice layout but still recovering from winter. Lots of thin fairways.
nice course
Nice course with a decent price--the only issue was pace of play which was very slow--a five hour round.
Bad Pace of play and rude GM
I will start by saying that I have wanted to play Legends for a long time. I finally got the chance to play and was gutted at my experience. First, as we tee’d off things were going good but as we got to the second hole we were stopped waiting for a group in front of us. We quickly learned that there were 4 groups backed up, one of the green, one on the fairway and then two waiting at the tee box. Once we got to the first par 3 it turned into a big waiting game. We felt the course was over booked and no one managing pace of play. The country club that’s attached had a tournament going on and half of the members came here to play. It took us 3 hours to play 9 holes which is an unacceptable pace of play.
After we finished nine we stopped and asked for a manager. I wasn’t trying to get anything for free I just wanted to share that this pace was really bad. They brought me the GM and I begin to say “I know the tournament probably caused you to be over booked” and he immediately went into defense mode. Telling me because I booked a twilight and I should have known I wouldn’t get threw all 18. I have played many courses and while I do know I don’t get a full 18 in I have never gotten to just hole 9. At the pace we were on it would have taken 6 hours. The GM kept saying he has a 4.5 hour pace and that the later hours gets slower because they don’t have staff out. He kept saying because I paid a lower rate there was no way to get 18 in. He made us feel very unwelcome and less than for playing later in the day. I was closer to joining arrowhead country club but after this GM actions there isn’t a chance I will join. I will also tell as many people as I can to golf else where.
Course playability
I am an average player. I found the layout of rolling fairways of a typical Palmer course tough but fair. However the fairways themselves were packed so hard that it was nearly impossible to take a divot when you hit your irons. Same for the greens - hard as concrete and rolled beyond PGA stymp ratings. Almost unplayable. A high spinning wedge shot in. Would hit and bounce up in the air and roll off. The contours and size of the greens were also extreme. And in my opinion unfair for the average golfer. I would not recommend this course unless you play like Rory - and even he would probably complain about it.
First time
First time playing here. Good condition. Fairly easy. Tee times on 7/8 minute spacing. Course was packed, but we finished in 4:30. Would play again for $60-$80.
Review
We enjoyed our day with you. We thought the pace of play was a little slow, but we really enjoyed the beautiful setting. The greens are far too undeleted to enjoy for the average golfer. We didn’t mind the quickness of the greens, but the mini undulations in one green seemed a bit oppressive.
Slow play
Seven minutes between tee times is way too short. Hence a 3 plus hour 9 hole round. Left after nine holes. Course was in good shape , staff friendly but greens were a little fast for me.
