what a shame
played this course 7/19 11am--I have played here many times over the last few years.
very sad to see it in such terrible condition. both the fairways and greens were in
disgusting shape. huge areas on the greens that should have been marked as ground under repair, looked like the staff had driven their carts on them. very sad
Pretty Good
Some brown/rough grass in the fairways but not too bad considering the time of year. Greens in good shape. Cart lady basically non-existent. Load up your cart before you head out. Been that way the last 4 rounds there
Good shape for summer
Played the palms some brown areas on fairways to be expected in summer, greens nice and big targets but some rolls to them to keep them interesting. Nice sand in bunkers(unfortunately experienced first hand) good putting, chipping, sand trap practice areas. Enjoyed the course.
Course playing nicely
Palm Valley was in good shape with greens running true. Plenty of side room to handle my slice.
Palm valley
Course is in good shape, pin placement was great and pace of play was like we were the only ones out there
One of the best in the west valley
Course in excellent shape, greens ran true, and fairways in great shape. I was impressed how nice it was since they are heading into overseed in a couple weeks.
OK Course
hadn't played the palms course in a few years overall conditions were good.Tee boxes were really fuzzy, ,fairways a bit high, bunkers were in good shape. The greens were a little slow but rolled true, played as a single and was able to finish in under three hours
Palms course, not lakes
This was our first time playing either palm valley course. We played the palms course and were happy with the course! It was in excellent condition! It was busy, but not too busy. We will definitely play here again!
Under construction.
Normally a nice course, not on this day. Greens in poor condition, very slow. Only the tee boxes and fairways were adequate. The fees were reasonable based on the condition of the course.
Great course, Pro Shop staff was TERRIBLE
The course was great, we got paired with another great twosome, the Cart girl and staff in the lounge was great but it all started with the rudest person I have ever met in the Pro Shop. He had no service skills at all and treated everyone in line like we were there by mistake. It was my first time there, when I asked where the range and first tee was, it pointed like the scarecrow in the wizard of Oz and said nothing. When I came back around and asked if they would call us to the 1st tee he said "we are on time, just go when it's your turn" We never met the other twosome until we both showed up at the tee box together. I'm new to the area and enjoy playing new courses, thank goodness I have plenty of new place to find and don't have to put up with him again.
hot day but good conditions
Palm valley is always in good condition. Even at 110 degrees the course wasn't dried out, the greens were still green and rolling true. Beverage cart only out certain days. Overall, for June in AZ, with our 100+degree days, it's still worth playing. Finding some trees for some shade is important :)
Good Course for the money
Got a good rate on 18 and was not disappointed at all. The weather was great, hot but this is Arizona, and the course was in great shape.
Very nice except bunker condition
I have played here several times. Course conditions are pretty good except they have the worst sand traps than any course in the valley. They were bad a year ago when I first played there, they have worked on them but are still terrible. Everything else; fairways, rough, greens, layout, are always good. Fix the bunker condition and it is one of the best in west valley.
Great value for a great course
It's been awhile since played the Palms course, but it was in the same shape as last time- Excellent. Got off to a slow start and had to wait behind two foursomes (we had 3) most of round. I took advantage of the extra time to repair other idiot's careless etiquette. So yes play could have been a little quicker. Had a great time with the guy myself and my friend were paired up with.
Course has actual "rough" and desert for any stray shots and you will use all clubs in your bag.
Fairways great, greens great, price great $30. IMO you can play Kierland, Camelback etc...for another $ 80-100 and play quicker and have a similar round probably b/c there are less folks on the course. No attendants to clean my clubs after round, but again I didn't pay for it. Look forward to playing it few more times this summer.
Great Golf
Excellent playing conditions, Awesome staff, pace of play was good, not rushed or delayed.
A long hitters course
Long drives on par 5s and long par 3s throughtout the course make this a challenging course. Play the tees that are best for you to have an enjoyable round. Was paired with a twosome that were familiar with the course so I was able to play my game bases on their advice.
Great set-up
The course is a good challenge with multiple tees enough to be fair for everyone. We player between tournaments and they had the rough very high.
a frustating day
The course was very nice, however, the tee times were at 7 to 8 minute intervals which caused the pace of play to be very slow, at times there were 2 groups waiting to tee off on some holes. this led to some groups ahead of us quitting after 9 holes.
This course in good condition
, we were impressed with this course, the condition and was clean. Possibly more marshal presence as group in front took cart past cart signs and up to green.
