Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

We love this course
We've played this course many times from November through May. It's a great course. It's an old course, so it's very long for a woman as the forward tees seemed to be an after-thought as was the case when the course was designed. But, it's the best course in the area. True bounces, strategic landing zones -- all the good stuff. And, catching a cocktail outside at Red's after a round is just terrific. Love it here.
Wide open and peaceful
This is a very forgiving course that can also challenge experienced golfers.
The course was in great shape
The course was wonderful, in great shape. The greens were extremely fast for us, but we got used to them. The temperature was 75, you’re on a golf course with no one behind you. How do you beat that. For the money it’s hard to beat.
Oldie But Goodie
From tee box to greens the course was in great conditions, except........... Bunkers. Bunkers were terrible. No sand at all, hard packed dirt. If you land in one of these traps make sure the players you are playing with are out of the way of the ball path. Greens were fast, fairways were cut short and the "rough"..... was as short as the fairway. Few of the holes had geese/duck/some type of water fowl exttrament littering the fairways. Overall it was a fun course and I might wait to play it again when Conditions are more optimal.
Good course Not much character
This Red course at Wigwam was my first booking with golf now. Booked a week or so ahead of time and paid $49 (from $99).. One I got to the resort and learned how to use the app to my advantage I got tee times at the Gold course ( a much more challenging and longer course) for $35.
The course was in good overall condition with carts allowed . It was flat with not much character but still challenging enough to make it interesting and fun.
Cant wait to take full advantage of the app in the future.
Fairways average, greens lightening fast
We were disappointed in the way the overseeding came in on the Red course fairways. There were many bare/dirt areas and where in did come in the grass was sparse at best. The traps also needed more sand.
The greens were very fast and true, however. This 18 at the Wigwam has always been the poor sister of the 3 18's.
Wigwam golf
Course was in good shape, however greens were too fast!? Staff very professional and friendly. Rack rates are high for the course overall. Had a very nice round at the Wigwam.
Great Day
Bag drop off, Pro shop, practice facilities, cart girl and tee to green can't ask for too much more. All in great shape and everyone has a great attitude. Played the Heritage and suggest putting out a bucket of water to wet your towel by the snack bar. This would preclude having to use the bathroom sink, where the started told me use.
Finally Golf Weather
The day was perfect ,weather wise finally, to play some golf. We were a bit intrigued on why the rough was so much greener and lush than the fairways which were a bit inconsistent. The greens were in great shape, extremely fast which we like. Overall the Wigwam is always a great value. The staff is friendly, a nice range with free balls. Pace of play is always good. I will return.
Great Course for the Money
Beautiful day. Course in good shape. Weather was perfect. Pace of play was a little slow, but not really bad. Nice layout, parkland style.
Good value
We enjoyed the round of golf very much. Course was in good condition especially the greens.
One staff member on the phone and two others behind the counter. Nobody would make eye contact to say just a minute I'll be right with you. When they finally checked us in they offered no information on where the range was to warm up or much of anything else. To be fair I have been there at other times when the staff served me promptly and was friendly and did offer information on all the on-course amenities.
This was a hot deal and I also was able to use some points, which may have contributed to the staff attitude
Always a great course and excellent this time of year
I was lucky enough to find a "Hot Deal" for this course as peak season starts, and for the value this is a treasure to play. Weather is perfect, and the overseed has taken full bloom and excellent care. Pace of play was pretty good considering a busy day, and the group I was paired with matched my skill level and was congenial and pleasant, very friendly. The greens rolled true, and were of medium to quick pace (I prefer slightly quicker greens, so this was good for me). All in all, a great golf day!
Too much walking
There was no warning on Golfnow that the course was "cart path only" this day, so it was not as enjoyable as it could have been. I am older and shouldn't be walking this long of course. All in though the course was i n nice shape, greens rolling well, but the off fairway rough was definitely long and hay fieldish. I like it all short. Oh well, can't beat the Arizona weather at this time of year.
A visitor's welcome.
I was fortunate enough to be grouped with a club champ match between Ken and Don. We all enjoyed a superb day and both hosts were tremendously open to have me witness their match. I could not have asked for better playing companions and to see a great battle for the rights of victory. Thanks for local knowledge, history and yes the beer.
Best and long healthy wishes to you both and the fine Heritage/Wigwam course/community.

Grand Olde Course
The links at the Biltmore is a lovely course, not too long, with an intimate ambiance created by nested or winding fairways.
It is well supported with amenities.
Course needs work
Greens were very inconsistent, some of which was probably due to recent overseeding. Bunkers were the worst I've ever seen. Not a speck of sand in any I saw. Luckily they weren't deep so it was just a matter of chipping off a tight lie. Nice course layout though, and friendly staff.
