About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

Golfer Reviews
Wigwam Patriot course (Blue)
Course seems to get less play than the other two at this facility so times are pretty open. It is short at just 6,000 yards. It is a real challenge for any golfer! Greens were hard as you would expect this time of year in AZ. Not unfair and rolled very nice. I would play here again for sure.
Nice course
Enjoyed the Patriot course, pace of play was excellent, Course is well used. Many of the bunkers are terrible, just dirt/mud. Greens are moderate, tee boxes are a little worn. Open (but screwy) layout so recovery from an errant shot is possible. Beverage cart was well stocked and had a friendly young lady who made certain she made her rounds to golfers often.
The pro shop was well stocked and staff was friendly The restaurant after the round was excellent
Great Course
The Gold Course is very nice. Well bunkered greens make the course tough but fair.
Great Course, but long
This is a great course, but it is pretty long. Can change your game if you are use to playing shorter course., The course was in great shape, pace was excellent, played in 3 hr. and 45 minutes. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Will play again when I am back in AZ.
wayne
The best course I haver ever played. An absolutely beautiful course. Will play again!
In defense of the greens
Some of the more difficult greens you will play. The course is not long. The fairways are wide there are a few hazards. But the greens require some planning. Like don't get short sided. the pins were, frankly a little unfair, given the slope of some greens. A couple were only about 4 feet from the fringe. Still, it was fun to navigate them, and I would play it again.
WigWam Golf
Great course. Unfortunately we experienced slow pace of play with a very slow foursome in front if us and no marshalls managing the play. The sand bunkers were awful, more like dirt and made for difficult and inconsistent to play out of.
Nice course, but the bunkers need a lot of work!!
Fairways nice, greens subtle and tough to read, both the fairway and green side bunkers suck! No sand, and hard as cement.
Good and a challenge
Wigwam has a course that fits everyone. We [played the Gold course which is challenging for the bogie to 2x bogie golfer. The holes are long and target golf is the point. The second cut adds a difficulty which means clubbing up one club. New name might be confusing - gold is still gold; red is now heritage (for the average player); and blue is now patriot (for the double digit handicap) . Enjoy your round
Great Day on the Links
Heritage Course (Red). Staff was excellent, one member was late worked and got us out in 15 minutes. Great to have a starter to spread out the groups, did not have to wait at all. Cart girl was great must have seen her at least four times. Course in in great shape from tee to green. Will play again.
Good course for the money
This course was in excellent condition, very playable, but with considerable length and well
bunkered greens to make it a challenge for anyone.
Unfortunately on this particular day they had groups of young children ahead of us practicing for a junior tournament. This slowed the pace of play considerably.
Great Condition- True Greens
I am a low handicap golfer and know golf and what average playing conditions are...This course was in great overall condition. My buddy and I played Trilogy, Los Caballeros, Quintero and here this week alone and there was no comparison when it came to "overall" condition. The greens were quick (rolling 11) and provide only a small landing area but were better BY FAR than every course we played over the last two weeks. The course has been managed well obviously. The staff were great too. The only down side I wasn't a fan of the range but like I say, that was the only down side.
Challenging layout from the Jones tees.
The gold course is a very good test of golf from the Jones tees. The greens were running slow and they were firm which made it even tougher but it was a good layout and good conditions.
Very nice course
Well maintained course and trained staffs, very nice and fast green, Thank you
slow play...
Front nine was great on pace of play, then we got to the back nine. We had a 5 some starting on hole 10 right in front of us. We had no one in front of us until this point. 1hour 25 minutes on the front and 2 hours and 45 minutes on the back. Dark spots on the greens but they still rolled rather smooth. For the money I wouldn't pay over $45 to play this course again. By the way this was the gold course that was suppose to be the best.
Long and challenging.
Played the combo tees on the scorecard, with these tees the course played to 7,000 yards. Very challenging at this length. Course was in great shape with fast true greens. Round was completed in just under 4 hours. Will definitely play the Gold course again.
Beautiful weather and course conditions
Great pace of play. Only thing was I had a group of older folks in front of me on back 9 that I caught up to and they played slow, several rehearsal swings, site it up, waggle..... chunk. Process repeated..... and repeated ;-) On one hole I sliced to other fairway and they picked up my ball after looking around! I didn't say anything, just laughed. Still got the round in at 4 hours as I had a quick pace in my twosome with nobody in front til we caught the snowbirds. I will go back to play it again, stay for lunch, etc.
