About
Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.
Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.
After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

What happened??
Played this course many times, especially last year when we had a family pass, but have never seen it in this bad of shape! I know they had kids on motorcycles tearing this course up on a few fairways but most of them had many bald spots with no grass! The tee boxes were not trimmed and a few of the ladies tees were moved way back to the men’s so almost impossible to get over open desert. The greens were decent. Bunkers still could use real sand in them. Cart guy was nice up until he wondered why we weren’t returning the cart to the cart return. Told him we were unloading our bags first.then at the return apparently didn’t pull it in far enough? Pretty smarmy attitude! Lots of cold water thankfully around! We like the course but they’ve got to fix it up!!! Foursome behind us kept pushing into us until we told them there was a foursome ahead-we were a twosome.
Great course that they are losing...
I had to move my ball several time in the middle of the fairway. They have literally lost several fairways. Greens were rugged too. Never seen it in this condition. Not sure what happened but it's approaching disaster.

Great layout but average conditions
Unfortunably the course was not in good condition when I played :-( probably due to the heat.
I would have to try again for better idea!

Good time
Really enjoyed playing the course. First time to play there.
Staff was very friendly and professional. Definitely glad that there was a beverage cart going around the course to keep everyone hydrated. :)
Course played fair and wasn't too difficult or too hard. It was what I expected.

Bad conditions
I am have played Las Sendas many times and I love this course. However I have NEVER seen it in this condition.

Good layout, greens, fairways and tee boxes trash
First time playing there, heard it was a really nice course. The greens, tee boxes and fairways were for the most part trash. Could be time of year, but for 80 bucks it wasn’t worth that price.

Great track - course conditions were average
Wonderful layout but greens keeping needs improvement. Fairways were spotty and tee boxes were under repair.

Course conditions not worth the price
I love the layout have played Las Sendas many times over the past 20 years unfortunately, right now, the course is in terrible shape
Lots of fairways with huge bare spots. Had to roll my golf ball all day.
The greens are punched a couple of weeks ago, and still had lots of bumps, and we’re very slow
The cart girl was great. The starter had a bit of an attitude.
I would not recommend anybody play this course until over seed, and then I would proceed with caution

Ripped up
1st and 3rd fairways ripped to mud - looks like they are just starting. Several tee boxes closed for re-seed. Greens just punched and shaggy = do not play for a few weeks....

Summer has been hard on this course
The greens are as bad as I’ve ever seen any course in the valley. It is as bad as Kokopeli and superstition springs. Fairways are in awful shape. So many dead spots and areas of just dirt.
I’d skip this course for a month or two.

Fairways were definitely below average. Many bare spots . I've golfed here several times over the yrs have Never seen the Fairways looking this way.

Course in rough shape
The course was in rough shape. Fairways were bare in spots and some of the greens were as well. I have played here more than a few times and have never seen it in this condition.

Summer heat
I have played Las Sendas on several occasions and it is a fantastic layout and normally in excellent condition. On July 29, 2023, 29 days of 110 degree plus temperatures had obviously created problems for both the fairways and greens.
