About

Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Challenging but enjoyable

Overall positive experience. Course is quite difficult - I played it once many years ago, so it was mostly unfamiliar to me (and to my wife who didn't know it at all). Conditions were outstanding, but recent overfeeding made it cart-path only. A rugged walk. Greens played true, but virtually all are elevated, so holes all play longer than marked. #1 is a mean hole to start your round - rated hardest handicap right off the bat. Wash areas across fairways are problematic, as are some holes with major doglegs - a bit of water on a few holes. #18 is a nightmarish par 5 with three zig zags to the green. Very friendly staff - lots of thank yous for our playing there.

Lots of nice vistas

Course itself is very challenging and would be hard on beginners. Lots of corners around foothills and lots of bunkers around elevated

We like the course even though it beats is up a bit and is in average shape for this time of year.

Fall golf

Great layout. Coming through overseed, cart path only.. greens rolled nice fairways in great shape.. tough course not for the faint of heart…but playable and beautiful desert venue.. I’m not the biggest fan of desert golf but this one I want to play again…

Great day of golf

I had played the course before but it was the first time for my friends. Despite opening recently from overseeding, the course was fantastic. Fairways were good and the greens were excellent. Staff was amazing, Doc at the first tee couldn’t have been better, going over the course details. He was very friendly and shared a bunch of laughs with our group. Lunch was fantastic and the view from the restaurant down the ninth day was great. All in all, a very good day.

Hot day at Las Sendas

Typical overseeding conditions, very green tall fairways and tboxes & super slow greens but will be awesome by Nov1. A little pricey for conditions, but staff and day were great.

Unfair price

I wasn't sure what to expect booking a time close to the shutdown for overseeding. The price was high for early Oct and only slightly lower than the competitors in the area. The course condition was atrocious. So paying $85 and only enjoying the scenery was very disappointing.

Nice Course but Rangers were annoying

We were having a nice round until about the 13th or 14th hole. The ranger came by an asked us to pick up the pace, the group ahead of us was a hold and a half ahead. We said no problem, we would pick it up, even though we had not seen the group behind us all day. Instead of leaving us alone, they followed us on our next two shots until we got to the green, they were not on the cart path, they were on the course right by us. When we got to the green, they left and went ahead, only to wait at the next tee for us. We complained to them and the one range got very confrontational and did not appreciate us complaining. It was completely uncalled for them to follow and then wait for us. Been golfing for 30+years and this is the first time a ranger has ever done that to a group i was in. We would have understood if we were holding people up, but like I said we never saw the group behind us once all day. Never playin here again
