About
Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.
Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.
After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Disappointed
I’d heard great things about this course so was really disappointed in the conditions this past weekend. Fairways are muddy, tee boxes terrible shape. So many better options for the price Las Sendas charges

Great course
Really enjoyed the course. Haven’t played it in four years. This time of year prices are a bit better. Normally camp afford to play this course in the fall and spring.

RTJ in Arizona !
Absolutely beautiful course ! Great amenity and practice facility. Staffs were friendly and the course was in fantastic condition. One of top 10 places I ever played. The layout can be tricky for some players but somehow it suited me - I broke my all time best score and shot 71 from blue tee. Next time my friends come to AZ, I will definitely take them to play here !

Great course, pro shop staff not so great
We played at 5:30 am on 7/15. Course was in very good shape. We were warned about pace of play, and played the front 9 in 90 minutes. We get to # 10 and find out there were several groups let out for 9 holes. The back nine took 2 hrs 30 minutes to play: no ranger to be found. We were 2 groups at every tee on the back 9. We choose the 1st time time on purpose to try to beat the heat. When we went into the pro shop to ask about the slow pace, we were told too bad. The guy couldn’t care less and was rude. Too bad, it’s a great course, but don’t charge $80 on a 115 degree day and then let several groups off the back and let the guys who got up at 4 am bake out in the sun. I’ll never go back!

Recommendations
The snack shop was open at the turn at 10:15. By 12:15 it was closed. They basically force you to pair up in a cart. It is 112 degrees out. You don’t have a full tee sheet. Let singles go out with their own cart. Trust me, you won’t run out of carts! Put more water coolers on the course. Most of all, there were times the four of us could not find the gold tees. Seemed like some holes were missing the gold rock.

Course Likes
The greens were quite bumpy and the pro shop attendant informed me before it played my round.
The fairways are in good shape, the traps are good to hit out of. The tee off boxes are in good shape.
I am from Chestermere and a pass member at Lakeside GC. The most significant difference between the courses is the size of the greens and the sand traps. Las Sendas greens are much smaller in size. This make for more accuracy hitting the greens. The traps at Las Sendas are more functional, strategically placed and easier to hit out. Drainage must be better. They appear to get watered. Good course and I enjoy playing Las Sendas whenever I am here.

Water the greens
Course hard and fast - expected in summer but the greens need more water as only a couple are in decent shape. Spend the money you are making on $8 Miller Lites!

Overpriced for Poor Greens and Poor Pace
They had just aerated the greens and were still charging normal prices. The pace of play was awful (waited about 8 minutes on every hole). The course has great views and course layout.
I will not be going back, not worth the money.

Punched, bumpy greens and blind shots
First time playing this course. Definitely challenging. Greens were bumpy and recently punched (not disclosed at time of scheduling nor at check in). This course would definitely benefit by adding GPS, as there are many blind shots, including off tee box. I hit what the group thought was awesome drive, down middle of fairway, and evidently it ran thru the fairway and we never found the ball. The course layout map didn't indicate that could be an issue. So, local knowledge a key to playing this course. I shot 86, and easily could have broken 80 with a caddy or GPS help.
