Desert Sands Golf Course
About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Trying to better the course. A lot better than the last couple years
Trying to better the course. Better than last couple years.
An OK short course
An older course. Short. Good enough to practice your short game. Not a fan of having to cross Sossaman road twice on the back nine. It's a much better value once the summer rates kick in.
Rudest Pro Shop Staff EVER
It's a good bang for your buck course- ideal for beginners. However the service, especially the woman in the pro shop is miserable to work with. She is rude, not welcoming and has obvious distain for her job or much less treating people with common decency. Which is too bad since the course is actually and fun to play. Do better Desert Sands. Your first impression with her leaves a bad impression.
Golf in az
Great course for mix of beginners and more experienced players. Greens are tricky. Stay below the hole when making approach ahots
Great short course for the money.
Great course for the money. Fairways and greens in great shape. The staff, especially the starter Shelly was super helpful and friendly.. I would definitely golf this short course again.
new owner
Congratulation to the new owner for bringing the course back to such a nice condition in a very short time.
Fun course
Fun course, short executive 18, greens were difficult but still fun
Fun Course
I've played this course 3 or 4 times. It is a fun course. Greens are very tough. A misread putt can send you off the green. Not many easy putts.
Very enjoyable day
My 3 friends and I had a great time playing this short, but challenging course. The greens were small and fast, which requires a good short game. The pace of play was perfect, much better than I expected and way better than other nearby courses.
DS review
Fairways in great shape. Some green are starting to show signs of distress but still not bad. Overall good conditions. One of my go to courses to play after work.
