About
The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Pete Dye was a very mean person.
The course is always difficult enough, add the moguls and the green undulation. A Challenge!
Challenging course
Outstanding course if you're need the fairways you are in trouble. Lots of different looks from the tee box. Make sure you pay attention to the course book.
RMRGC being readied for overseeding
Course had been scalped in preparation for Fall overseeding. Even in that state, it was playable, with some minor ball adjustments in fairway. Tee boxes were fair, as were sand traps. Greens were OK, but some putts near holes went offline due to uneven cuts. Pace was good (3:40 as a single, walking), as was value. Uncertain when overseeding will actually take place, but it is most likely very soon.
Dried out
I believe that the course was getting ready to do major maintenance. Greens were dried out.
Still good
Even with drought conditions and blistering heat, the course is very playable. Continued work on the course will help the playability even more. Like the layout and the views. Definitely recommend.

It’s always a good idea to play in the afternoon if you have the time!

Fun, challenging course with great views. Course was in great shape.
Nice course
Staff is great. Course was great. Greens slow (recently punched?) I will definitely play again.
Disappointment
Paid a premium for the summer rate with an 8:01 tee time. By the time we finished the 3rd hole it was 9:05. Play picked up somewhat by the time we got to the back 9 but was still a 5-hour round with shaggy, inconsistent greens. Was really disappointed with the course condition and pace of play for the cost.
