The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Disappointment

Really looked forward to playing here. I was very disappointed. Scruffy tee boxes, patchy greens, lot of dead, brown grass. If every hole looked like 18 I'd give it five stars. They don't! I played early and they got me out in front of a threesome. I played it in 3 hours. That was my highlight. Tee boxes aren't marked, got confused going from 16 to 17. No signs anywhere on the course. Cart paths are not convenient to the greens. Pete Dye would be just as disappointed. Too bad

Worst course in Arizona

This is the worst course I've ever played and easily ten worst in AZ! The condition was disgusting the greens had weeds and disease were patchy and the ball bounced instead of rolling. I feel like is was robbery and bordered on immoral to charge $185 for a course that's not as nice as Dobson ranch and can't even hold a candle to Lone Tree. They should be embarrassed of their facility and after 3 holes my buddy and I understood why the course wa empty on a beautiful day, because no one would play that course twice.

Hidden Gem

Red Mountain doesnt get the notoriety that it's neighbors Las Sendas and Longbow get, but having played them all RMCC is by far my favorite. Classic dessert layout, tough greens, rated 134 from Blue tees which only play at 6100 yards. That will tell you something.

Only complaint there are no directional signs or signs on tee boxes.

Desert Dye

Long time Pete Dye design in need of an update. Some greens had large bare spots. The days of elevated greens are numbered, very few holes have the option to run the ball onto the putting surface. Staff was very professional.

Fun challenging course

Played this course for second time in 3 days. Shaved off 7 strokes due to having a better idea of where to play my shots. Was paired with one other person and he was great to play with.

Red Mountain Rancg Golf resort

The course was tough . Most greens were elevated and guarded by sand. There are very few flat areas on the course. Staff were friendly and helpful. The starter gave me some good information on the course. It was a lot of fun to play and I will be playing the course again to try and improve my score.

Oh boy!

Be ready for this one. A great Pete dye design, small dolly greens, don’t be above the hole and have your short game dialed.

The back nine have lots of blind shots so use the book they give you, it helps a bunch.

I’d love to play it when it’s lush. A bit harder for high handicaps.

The staff was awesome, very nice and accommodating, and they liked to talk a bit of hockey as well:)

Tough Greens

Have played this course several times and enjoy it every time. Playing this time was a bit more challenging because they had rolled the greens with what looked like a sand, fertilizer and grass mix and they were lightning quick. Almost PGA quick. And most of their greens are not flat but have a rolling, undulated surface that made them very difficult to play. Balls were rolling off the green or down into swails on the green that changed an approach shot within 10' to a putt of 30-40'.

Red Mountain Ranch Country Clib.

After a half hr frost delay pace of play was extremely slow taking 5 hrs to,play. Staff was friendly and attentive. Greens were sanded and as a result were somewhat slow and bumpy. Couse I slayed out well and was just an ok value for the money.
