About
The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Great course with great strangers!
Course design is wonderful. Having just over- seeded, the greens weren’t as brutal as they can be as these greens have so big undulations. The pace of play was perfect for our 4 some who were 3 strangers, very funny & who badgered each other for 18 holes! They weren’t very good, but Vincenzo, my cart partner had family in Italy as do I, so it was just a perfect match!
Nice course
Staff was nice. Great value. Nice course. Would play again.
Vacation golf
Course was CPO but not too taxing. Lots of small hills buffering several holes, so target golf to those greens. Fairways were ok but lots of dry or dead patches. Greens were coming along but several had wash board patches. Tee boxes need some love. It was an interesting layout which we enjoyed. Pace was just over 4 hours. Enjoyed the elevation on a few tee boxes.
Challenging Course with Good Value
Overall the course is in good shape. The greens are rolling at ~ an 8 and in fair shape. Some of the tee boxes are pretty beat-up, fairways in good condition. No bevy cart so load up on fluids before front nine and at the turn. We had a great time!
Tough track for a beginner
I played the week before and there is a massive difference in the greens and fairways in a week. Tough track if you are offline and struggle hitting greens.
Very good experience
I had a very good experience of course was wonderful. I ended up playing with another person and he was extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend this course. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be well-maintained.
Nice track
I liked the course. Interesting layout. Course condition pretty good for this time of year. Pace of play was good. Staff was very friendly. I would play it again
Tough track for a beginner
This course is great, lots of challenges to keep you interested and focused the whole round. On the day I played it was still 7-10 days away from being in good condition after overseeding, but it was still really good compared to other courses I played recently. Only issue was a par 3 on the back nine, there was a large piece of maintenance equipment parked in the fairway directly in line between the tee box and the flag, it would take a bad shot to hit it, but it was on a direct line to the pin. I will play here again before the high season pricing kicks in.
