The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Becoming one of favorite courses.

Played only our 2nd round at Painted Mountain today and we really enjoy it. Layout is challenging enough but plenty of chances to score if you’re finding fairways. Will definitely keep coming back for many more.

Had a great time!

First time playing this course and had a great time. Not over challenging. Course was in good condition if you stayed in fairways. Not much room for error outside of fairways as hard pan dirt and pebbles. Sand Traps were really rough. Lots of pebbles in the sand. Had to pick ball up and return to fairway unless you don’t like your clubs for some reason.

Over Priced and slowest round you’ll play

Don’t waste your time or money coming to play this course. They don’t have a driving range, the pace of play is terrible and their old Marshalls don’t do anything but hold it up even more. The Marshall yesterday said we were “right on pace”… lol yeah maybe for a 6 hour round. We finished 9 holes in 2.75 hours and waited on every tee box for 10-15 minutes. We left after hole 12 because of how bad it was. The Condition of the course has always been poor here, every tee box is beat and you’re lucky to find a strip of grass to tee up on. The only hole that seems to be well maintained is hole 4. Just very unpleased with my past experiences here and if I could save some other golfer the time and money from playing here, then I’m happy. You’re better off playing Viewpoint or Apache Wells, which are comparable in cost but way better in value and quality. Or Pay a little more and play red mountain ranch or las sendas.

As a snowbird, would play it more often but your rack rate is out of my price range and your twilight deal sucks.

Walked

Disappointed.....

I like the overall course and the staff are great, however, the tee boxes and some of the fairways leave a bit to be desired. It's great to walk as well. But this is prime time....the tee boxes, fairways and greens should all be at their best.

Fun round great greens and weather

First time playing Painted Mountain, thought it was a really fun and challenging course. Long fairways and fast greens, I’d say about 6 out of 18 tee boxes (whites) were pretty roughed up but overall course was in great shape. They’ve done a good job of tying off the shorter fairways to keep them nice, caused pace to slow a little on those holes but nothing too inconvenient. Can’t wait to get back out there.

Poor pace

Omg! Every shot is like starting over! Groups out too close together as a result course never opens up. Brutal! If you want to visit with friends on each tee box play here!!

Slow play ridiculous pin placements

Well I guess Painted Mountain is really only interest in pushing as many golfers threw as possible to make a couple of extra tee times each day.. Too bad as it’s a nice course! The greens keeper had ridiculous pin placements only front and back in a corner of the green. Usually 5-7 yards from edge of greens. Made it impossible to get the ball to stop as the backs and fronts of greens are sloped away. I had other times booked I cancelled and booked other courses I suggest you look elsewhere unless you enjoy waiting on every shot!!

At the end of the day-Great round of golf

Foursome played 18 with 12:07 tee time. Finished in almost exactly 4 hours and 30 minutes which is stated pace time. We had a foursome in front and behind us. Minimal wait time on just a couple of holes. Loved this course, shot well. Pin placement on the par 3s was tricky especially with fast sloped greens, definitely a challenge but still enjoyable. Saw the beverage cart 3 times and you can’t miss grabbing an amazing hot dog after the front 9. Overall, beautiful day of golf, course in great condition, affordable, and staff was awesome. Would recommend and will be back.

Great time in awesome weather

The course overall was in good condition but the pin placement on every hole was poor which made each hole nearly impossible to make par. While the weather was beautiful they scheduled tee times so close together the pace of play was just over 4 hours and 40 mins with a wait at over half of the holes (particularly the par 3’s). Met two really nice people from Canada who were visiting for the winter and the staff was really friendly.

Slow Play!!!

The course is in decent shape lay out fine. Pace of play was incredibly slow. So much do we left on 14th hole. I guess if you play at 1:37 and don’t tee off until 2 you can expect slow play. The price was reasonable.I guess you get what you pay for!
