About
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Disregard previous review! THIS COURSE IS AMAZING!
Played painted Mountain while in town with a few friends! The staff was amazing and the 2pm $50 tee time was awesome! Course was in phenomenal shape and the pace was pretty good. I previously posted a review, but that one was intended for APACHE CREEK NOT PAINTED MOUNTAIN, I've reached out to golf now to change the review, but they cannot do so. This is a 4 star course easily and I definitely plan on playing it again!
Pace of play
Pace was extremely slow with a lot of golfers quitting before they were done. Over booked
Over all average course
First off I did not know this course doesn’t have a driving range. Arriving early for the tee time I should have probably read the reviews. Peak season rates are a little high, paid 75$ thanks to golf now, would not pay more than that for this course. The staff was friendly, the course lay out is fun. Pace of play during this time of the season was slow.
Extremely overpriced!
Played this course 2/18/25 while in town from Denver. Paid $74/person. I wouldn't pay $74 for two people to play this course again. If I knew what I was getting into, I would've paid the extra $20 to play anywhere else. What little fairways there are, are just dead grass painted green, the course is extremely confusing to navigate with very poor signage..the only upside was that the staff was extremely friendly. After playing other courses in the area,.one $25 more and one $25 less, I can honestly say, this course was the worst of the 3 and the worst that I've played out of the 7 total AZ courses I've had the experience of playing. 10/10 don't recommend.
Wish they had a range
I always enjoy playing here. Course was in very good condition. Some greens had old cups that were sitting very low, but otherwise they were in good condition. Fairways were in decent condition as well. Only thing that they would need to really work on would be some of the sand in the bunkers.
