Painted Mountain Golf Club
About
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Golfer Reviews
Stacking tee times 7 minutes apart when you know the majority of golfers playing here are elderly hackers is just an insane level of greed. Now pile on cart path only & you have no business setting tee times that close.
We showed up at 11am for an 11:50 tee time & finally start at 12:45 & then a 5.5 hour round of golf.
If this was the last golf course on Earth, I’d quit playing.
Starter was rude as was older cart “girl.” It seems like everyone there hates their jobs.
Also, no Marshall, so slow groups can stack everyone up & you’d have nobody to notify.
It also appears that the new seed is struggling because they’ve come out of overseed closure & the greens, fairways & rough are all ultra bushy.
If the grass needs help then close until the grass is healthy.
Whoever owns this place is ULTRA greedy.
This place used to have a driving range & they sold the land for a few homes, because greed.
There’s way better courses for way better prices.
Painted Mountain Golf Course, Mesa
We really enjoyed our round of golf from start to finish. For the kind of summer we’ve had here, the course was in great shape. The starter was very friendly. Great course to play. Thank you.
Great staff and course
Not a single person out there but us, super friendly staff and well kept course.
Needs a lot of help
I hadn't played this course in several weeks. I looked at the reviews and I don't know what course they were playing but it wasn't this one. The tee boxes are fair at best, most are very unlevel. There were several holes with temporary tees. The fairways have a lot of areas without grass or are patchy. The greens were slow and soft, but good. This is a $30 course not a $50 course.
All good
Greens are excellent, fairways are typical summer issues...
Poorly Maintained & Bad Service
I know it’s summer, but the fairways were almost non-existent. Half brown/dirt & half crab grass. $60 is a descent price but there are courses that charge the same or less in way better condition this time of year. Would not play here again without seeing the fairways. Plus the beverage cart service was bad. I’m a good tipper & the service was rough - made it difficult to want to keep buying from her. Also, they don’t serve hard alcohol so don’t expect to get a mixed drink here. I don’t like giving bad reviews but holy cow, they need to work on a few things.
Over priced for scorched up summer fairways
I understand cost of maintenance has gone up but 55 dollars for scorched fairways with no grass, scummy ponds, horrible bunkers and greens that were similar to carpet is kind of ridiculous. Also they allowed a group of 8 on a busy Sunday morning. They told them no at the beginning but the range drove right past them and didn’t try to break it up or send anyone ahead so it slowed us down to where we had to wait 5-10 minutes on every hole for the 8 person group to clear the green or get far enough on the fairway for us to tee off.
The golf course had just opened back up from over-seed on October 6th. Cart Path Only is common for most courses coming out of over-seed for at least a few weeks. We have been cutting the greens daily and will continue to lower the greens height as the winter grass becomes more established. If you would like to discuss your round further please call the golf shop at (480) 832-0156 and ask to speak to the Director of Golf.
