Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Bare bones care
This course is in rough shape. The greens are horrible, with green paint being the putting surface. Course needs a lot of attention
Course is Average
Ahwatukee Golf Course is average in conditions and overall value. Pace of play was poor taking 5 hours to complete. The staff was excellent making the day more enjoyable.
Almost cold water
Ahwatukee has changed there pro shop to a different end of the building but everything else is the same!
I'm not impressed with the Tee Boxes, terrible condition, flat surface hard to find Fairways are kind of good with a lot of not so good.
They have gotten rid of a lot of old dead trees! Driving range: Mats....really!! Forget the mats and use the grass; or better yet, issue a mat so you have a nice place to put the ball in the fairway!!
Value for the price....not even close!! From now on I'll wait until Summer when the rates will match the conditions of the course....low.
The new putting green, or refurbished putting green it quite nice!! Good job!
I'm hoping the "new" owners/company will work on the course as it is not a bad course generally! All the employees were great, by the way!!!!!
FORE! The luv of golf
Ahwatukee is a standard parkland layout, lined w houses in the foothills. The layout is welcoming to all levels of golfers.
Our foursome teed off at 11am and finished at 2:45pm. The pace of play was perfect.
The greens and fairways were in good shape. There is undulation in the greens but they rolled true and steady. They are quicker than you think, especially down grain. Knowing when to be aggressive is key to avoiding three putts.
The fairways were decent w good, crisp lies. Use the divot sand. The bunkers are a little thin on sand but fair.
Our only issue was w the tee boxes. They are filled with barren spots that make looking for good footing a problem. The rough is pretty much hardpan so it’s either fairway or playing off the dirt if you tend to spray the ball.
The staff Is super friendly and helpful.
We will play it again. $70 is a bit overpriced for the course but it is a fun layout.
Bring Back the Old Owners
Course was worse than bad. Course was in much better shape a year ago. Not sure if they even overseeded this year. Sad!
Yikes
Greens are bumpy and inconsistent, pace was slow, staff was fine, tee boxes uneven, bunkers are concrete, rough is concrete, fairways have large patches of concrete. I’ll wait another 5 years to see if they turn this dump around.
New Ownership
Course is under new ownership and they seem to finally be taking care of the golf course. It’s been in such bad shape for so long and already so much better than last year. Can’t wait to see what it looks like next year.
Great place to play.
We play here regularly. Usually play here with my grandson. He says it's his favorite course. Played the week of Christmas with my family. We had a foursome and threesome
We were treated like royally, which we appreciated. We had a great time.
First time player - female
I booked this course for an enjoyable day on a course and
It was Single female golfer and sometimes it’s hard to feel comfortable on a course or in a club house This might not be the best in Phoenix but it was good you can tell they are working on all aspects of the course but for me it was a great day great staff wasn’t too busy and enjoyed my round of golf challenging in a few spots and fu to play still nice views of the area Loved the pro shop and snack shop hotdogs were great
Course Review..
The course conditions is very poor, seem like they painted the green, the green is so dry....
Fairways and Greens
The fairways require lot of cosmetic surgery .
