Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Quit after 11 holes; 3 1/2 hours had already passed. No Ranger ever seen. The greens were, for the most part, bumpy throughout. I
heard that the course was under new ownership and was being improved, and I did notice some improvement, but there is a long way to go. Note: there is a surcharge for using a credit card to pay for the round.
Reasonably priced course
It’s not a resort course, but it 1/4 of the price. An for that I like it.
Good layout....rough shape
Could be a very nice course if they company who owned it would invest in the course. In my mind not worth what is being charged. Many bare spots int he fairways and no rough, just dirt. Not worth what is being charged to play the course.
soso course
course is a little scruffy, but was told it is on the upswing
Budget pick, beautiful day for golf
Course is definitely improving in conditions. The new ownership is clearly invested in making this a positive playing experience for patrons. The overall course conditions could certainly be better, but for the price point at this time of year, there’s really not any other championship style courses that you could play 9 at locally, let alone 18. Some holes are certainly better maintained than others, and the greens could use a good roll, but overall a good day on the course for me. Staff was super friendly, (cart guys, pro shop staff, bartender, etc.) hoping to come back!
There were a lot of dry areas on the course. Greens were bumpy. For the price it was ok. The sand was like hitting out of concrete.
Good but needs to be better
Course was in pretty good shape. They need to water the greens... They don't roll very good and are extremely dry. They cut the greens very short, seemingly to try and keep the speeds up but they would be better with longer grass, rolling a little slower to me would make them more consistent - green to green
Pleasantly surprised
Have avoided this place as it’s been in horrible condition for quite awhile. Nothing else available so I gave it a shot and I’m thankful I did. New management is making strides to improve the conditions, not great yet but getting there. Greens were quick and generally in good shape, a far cry from the times they had large bare spots. Staff very friendly golf shop remodeled and looks much better. I’ll be back.
Great time!
This was our first time playing here and we were pleased. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course is clearly being improved and they seem dedicated to upgrading conditions of fairways, cart paths, greens, and tee boxes. Things are looking up for the Tuke!
5 hour round
Too many golfers ignore pace of play and the tee times too close together. Greens in poor shape.
First 9 not good but back 9 somewhat better (layout was better)
A lot of overalll work is needed on the whole course , smoother greens, better shape fairways and lots more sand in the traps.
Money and work in many areas could make it a good course. Time will tell.
