The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

wait and wait and wait
quit after nine holes taking more than 2 1/2 hours. The course marshal came by three times and said there was nothing he could do. The problem is they didn't monitor or regulate the pace of play early and allowed things to get into a complete mess. Won't go back

Worn Out
Course conditions were terrible. Greens were sad. Dead spots everywhere in the fairways. Cart paths will rattle your teeth out. Feel bad for the staff that has to be the face of this. Needs a major facelift.

A Faded Gem
You can see how this course was at one time a “gem” to play on! But, due to the misfortune of time, resources, care and maintenance. The course has deteriorated! It still has some holes that are unique and difficult. It’s a good choice for beginners and anyone looking for a good low price to fulfill their “golf addiction”. I still found joy in the course layout and wondered how the long gone deceased members of this club would feel about the course today.

Needs work
Could only play 7 holes it was that bad, maintenance guys were kicking up dirt on almost every tee box, greens were very patchy, the rough was basically weeds/dirt, I’d just save your money.

Greens are in need of work
The course in general was in good shape, but they seem to be having a problem with the greens. big patches where they have tried to repair them and a number of just bad spots.

Great staff
To a person the friendliest people you could ever meet. The restaurant is very good again with a great staff.
Under 4 hours walking so excellent pace.
The one distraction is the state of the greens. Some areas are good but all too often bumpy with patchy grass. Hoping that gets corrected as it would be worth the cost with better greens.

Get what you pay for
My wife and I played on Wednesday April 26th. The course was in pretty rough shape. The front 9 sand traps had little to no sand in them, making it very difficult to get a good shot. The back 9 traps were a little better. The greens were in very rough shape with some greens having only half covered by something resembling grass. The good part of playing there was that the forward tees allowed my wife, an inexperienced golfer, to not get frustrated. The dry dusty conditions maximized the roll that she got. All said, I'm glad that we played this course first on our trip.
