Ahwatukee Country Club
About
The sun shines 350 days a year in Phoenix and you can enjoy this factor at Ahwatukee Country Club. "Ahwatukee" is Crow Indian for "house of dreams", but this could easily be the "golf course of dreams".
The semi-private Ahwatukee Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course designed by John Bulla in 1974 that is open year-round and includes a driving range, as well as a cart included in the greens fee. The golf course is par-72 and measures 6,713 yards from the championship tees.
The Ahwatukee Country Club golf course features a fairly wide-open layout, but has out-of-bounds areas on either side of the fairways - including some with houses, so watch out for those windows - as well as water hazards on some holes. The putting greens play fast.
After a tight front nine on the Ahwatukee Country Club golf course, things open up on a razor-sharp par-4 dogleg 10th hole, with no chance to cut corners: there's a towering forest to the left.

Course rating
Greens i. Good shape, fairways not to good. Tee boxes very bad. Over priced for course condition.
Winter time blues
Visit from out of town. Played course many times over the years. Front side greens not okay, backside better. Fairways need water. 5.5 hr. round with 12:30 tee time.
Good pace
Most courses slow done later in day we did not. Short wait on back expected. 4.25 hours. Good course for duffer like me.
Pretty good value for the price you pay
All greens were in god condition and were fairly quick.
However fairways and tee boxes were very dry and could use a lot of water. Traps for most part in good shape.
Dry
Like many courses we have played need for water is huge. Greens in good shape. Played it on a twilight fee do cost was ok. Would not spend more than $55 to play
Ahwatukee GC
Decent course but very slow play until the Marshall made the slow group skip 2 holes. After that it moved ok. Would come back again. Good deal on 6 beer for the price of 5 to take on the course.
Not worth the drive from Scottsdale
The price was reasonable but the course was in terrible I fell on a stick or rock on first hole and wasn’t able to swing the club after that.
The starter put us (a regular weekly playing twosome be hind a foursome which we’re sharing two sets of rental clubs. They were obviously new golfers and totally unaware of course courtesy.
Need Marshall
This course is better than it has been in the past. The pace of play was good but they don’t have a starter, Marshall on course or cart service. We almost had a fight with a group because they didn’t understand the instructions of the day - to start on 10.
Value
Should pair up two somes. We joined a 2some. Let 4 groups go through but caught them anyway. 4.25 hr round not bad. Will go back.
Desert first
First time playing in the desert. Appreciate the informal atmosphere and pace of play. All holes but a couple were straight away. Homes along the course made for more care. But greens are pretty fast and rough easy to find my golf ball!
Great value
A fun day at the course paired up with a couple of very nice guys. Good value for the money, great pace of play.
This is a very nice golf course and in fair condition for this time of year. The staff was excellent, accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. The only downside to our experience was that we played behind two 5somes and had to wait on every shot from the 4th hole to the 18th hole, and we never saw a marshall. The 5some in front of us had no golf etiquette and never once asked if we wished to play through. There were a lot of groups backed up behind us when we finished.
