So close to the hole in one....whaaaa Photo submitted by BLaycock on 02/02/2014
Paid for 18 but only had time to play 9 due to the foursome in front of us. God bless the elderly, but they were so slow that by the time we got to the nineth hole, we were waiting at the tee box, another twosome was waiting behind us, a single behind them and another foursome behind him. It was insane that there wasn't a ranger to handle the situation. Half of that group had to leave after the nineth hole because it took more time to complete the front nine then it normally would have taken to complete 18 holes.
Great Place to learn the Game
Great course to learn the game on!
We Love the Staff! Not sure who owns the course, but it would be GREAT if they would fix the bathrooms on the course, so the ladies can close the doors. Please and Thank you 🤞
Wait until over-seeding is completed around late October
It's all been stated before by other reviewers. Poor conditions overall. Cart path is a complete mess with numerous ruts and bumps. The course restrooms are deplorable. golf from the driving range litter fairways for holes 1,6 and especially 9. Ball washers may or may not work. If they work, they might well be dry. The greens are playable. You do get a half way decent roll. The course will do if you are a novice golfer or just want to practice on your short game.
Lack of maintenance
The course was recently watered so there was a lot of mud. Some of the fairways were dirt. The cart paths need to be re paved. A lot of potholes.
Junkyard Course
Tee time delayed by 1/2 hour because there were no golf carts available. In the meantime they let anyone who walked play in front regardless whether they had a tee time. So naturally course was backed up. Took over 21/2 hours to finish 9 holes and this is a short course. Course conditions were horrible. Fairway was mostly dirt and rough was nothing but ball swallowing weeds. Considering rest of course greens were almost playable. Do go unless you absolutely have to.
Course is in horrible shape
The fairways are mostly all in very poor condition , many of which have wide, long patches of just dirt. Same for rough. It’s the worst I have ever seen the past few years.
I would not recommend to anyone to,play this course. Desperately need tender loving care.
Rough shape
This place is in pretty bad shape. Lots of weeds, lots of uneven ground, potholes/missing cart path. It is typically inexpensive but that is about the nicest thing I can say about it.
Fairways were in poor shape. Greens were excellent.
Good practice course
The older man running the pro shop today was very unfriendly.. There is no course martial so the group of 3 ahead would never let me play through. Played 16 holes very slow .
Course needs a lot of work
Don't expect much when a round at PV is very cheap during summer months. The tee boxes and greens are in decent shape considering the extreme heat. However, the fairways are in horrible shape for the par 4 holes. The cart path is the worst I've seen. With that said, play the course if you're a beginner golfer or need practice with your iron game. The course's saving grace is the green conditions. The check-in worker was very friendly.
Paradise Valley
This was my first time playing this course. I was hesitant to play here and had passed it up a few times previously after reading reviews about the course conditions. But I decided to give it a try with a cheap hot deal and to check a new course off my list. The reviews I read mentioned the lack of grass in the fairways and I found that to be the case. If you hit the fairway and can find a bit of grass nearby, might as well move your ball so you’re not hitting off dirt. The tee boxes were in decent shape and the greens were surprisingly good. The greens were pretty slow and you have to give your putt a real firm stroke or you’ll be short all day, but the grass was good except for a few dead spots from the heat. The layout of this course is really good and if the grass was in better condition it would be a terrific course. But not expecting much, I had a fun round and the lack of fairway grass wasn’t that big an issue since there are so many par 3s.
Slow pace of play
I played as a single and had a twosome in front of me. I had to wait at least 5-10 minutes for them to play ahead. They were obviously in no hurry and spent a lot of time looking for lost balls. My tee time was 8:15 am so they were in front of me. At first it looked like one player would hole out while the other one wasn’t on the green yet.. also, the cart paths are in terrible shape. They are filled with pot holes and in some places are totally worn down as they need to be replaced
To be expected
For a super cheap public course it was a little tougher in the fairways than expected but the greens were i great shape considering the heat this summer. A little furry but rolled true and weren’t dirt like some of the fairways. Played in 1:45 so can’t complain at all.
