Pro Shop Staffer is a Jerk
Played PVGC several times. Good little track to hone in irons. Tee boxes and greens are great. Fairways are really not an issue as you shouldn't be on them very much anyway.
Big issue: fire the guy in the Pro Shop. He's a jerk. Lectured me because I showed up 2 minutes late. Very unhelpful and rude. Seems like an unhappy codger that needs to go sit on the porch and yell at squirrels.
Course needs mainternace
Greens below grade - very dry and one was patched; cart paths in terrible shape; only $$ to play so you get what you pay for.
Decent cheap course
Decent cheap course fun lay out, couple long holes and a lot of iron shots off the tee pad
Slow and bumpy
The course was not well cared for. The cart path was horrible. 4x4ing in a golf cart just go drive between holes. Broken up and holes were filled with water. The course itself was not much better.
The pace was not good. We did 13 holes and got so tired of waiting that we left. There were two groups of 4 waiting ahead of us at each hole. 13 holes took us 3 hours before we decided to leave.
pot holes
The cart paths are filled with holes that need repair desperately. its better to not use them and ride on the grass. bunkers need real sand. greens are ok. If the price to play was higher I would not play here.
Bumpy ride
Course in Good Shape however the Water fountains and the Golf cart trail need attention
Potholes
Ok for the price. No snackbar until weekend. Watch out for all the DEEP potholes on cart path...especially at the 1st hole. Really bad first impression.
Cheap round; friendly staff
Let's start with the fact that the prices here are low compared to many in the area. If you just want to get out and play quickly on what is essentially an executive course this is your place. Or, if you are new to golf this is a good place to go.
For experienced golfers this is a tough course play. The greens are rough (pun intended). The greens are splotchy and the ball rolls oddly. The driving range hitting area is fine, but the actual range is pure dirt. The chipping green is okay and the putting green is decent.
The staff is awesome. Super nice. Open to telling you how the course is playing on the day. This is the type of course 13 year old me would have loved to play often. I could play it cheaply and often. As an adult that likes a nice course this is not the spot to go.
My son is young, next time I go back is when he is ready to start playing more seriously. I probably won't be back unless I have an itch that really needs to be scratched.
