Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Jekyll & Hyde course

First six and last few holes were mellow; middle 9 were nuts -- crazy elevations, pretty views. No GPS in the carts, and the golf shop and facilities were antique. Still fun, esp with a hot deal.

Deano

Nice course, really nice staff, front was a good pace but the back was totally backed up, the tee boxes need to be leveled out, still a great course though.

Beautiful desert course. Challenging greens with flags well-protected. We played 4 courses in 5 days and this was the best value for the money. Will definitely come back to play again, and will highly recommend to my friends.

There are better for your $$

We had to change to play Lookout Mountain due to a scheduling issue at Biltmore. The course was mid 200’s and wasn’t worth the money comparing to others I have played this week. Local course knowledge would have help with several somewhat blind tee shots. The green were slowed I played all week.

Super solid!

Really great course and a fun design. First 6 holes are open so offer a good chance to score low, and then it gets tricky. I would recommend playing short/safe on some of the later holes as the risks did not play out well for me. 37 on the front and 47 on the back haha. Really good shape and nice staff.

Course was in good shape. Tough to find the pro shop, Pro shop & bag drop are 1/4 mile south of starter shack and driving range, Check in is over near the Hilton Hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful views, elevation changes, course has lots of character.

Better than I remembered, I’d one back for sure

Played here this week, it’s spring break I’m told (?) so tee time was hard to get

Golf now got me a great rate for a 12:20 tee time, thanks!!

I played here 5 years ago, and the course was better than i remembered. Some really fun holes, generally excellent condition, and really enjoyed the two gents that got paired up with us.

I’ll be back!

(Only downside is that it was not walkable, too far between holes…, and the pro shop is an honest kilometre from the first tee! Ha!)

Really fun course but

For the price the bunker sand should be way better than it is. Otherwise this is a really cool course. Numerous fun elevated tee shots.
