Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

The track was in good condition, but it was too "hilly" for my tastes. Greens were great.

I will play again

I play a lot of different courses every year. The prices I pay vary from $40 to $600, but the thing they all have in common is I believe they will be in good playing condition.

The greens were in good shape, and the fairways were in great shape. The tee boxes were mediocre. The layout is very nice.

The staff were excellent.  It is a good value by Phoenix Resort course standards.

I practice there for $25 a day. They have us hitting on artificial turf right now. There is a nice chipping area and a large putting green.

I enjoyed playing Lookout Mountain, and I will go back and play it again.

Perfection!

Flew into Phoenix for 1 day of golf (get away from the winter in SLC) and played one of our go to coursed in Phoenix, Look Out Mountain. This course is always in great shape, has challenging holes and layout and is just a fun to play. Everyone on staff are always welcoming and helpful, carts are clean, golf shop has a nice selection of golf accessories.

A new favourite!

Played it twice in past year and Love this course ! Front builds your confidence and back challenges you big time.

Had a beautiful day and great pace of play and scored well which always helps your opinion.

If I had any criticism it would be the uneven tee boxes. I hate mounds on a tee box - how hard can that be to address ?! Otherwise top notch especially if you get a hot deal.

Course in great shape and beautiful views

The only two negative was the older man at check in , he seemed quite grumpy, all other staff amazing.

We were paired with two others who’s pace of play was very slow, and unfortunately no Marshall to ask them to pick it up, felt bad for those behind us, and quite painful for us too, noticed a few quit behind us due to pace.

Beautiful course!

Tee boxes, fairways, greens, layout all excellent at Lookout Mountain! Greens run true. Sand traps are beautiful, but try to stay out of them! Views are spectacular! Nice touch that range balls are included with greens fee.

Amazing Deal!

Great layout! Great conditions, especially the greens. The odd scrubby spots in the rough but very occasional. Wish the course was more walkable but ya can't have everything.

Memorable holes, great condition

Such a fun course with picturesque holes in great condition. Beautiful mountain backdrops, elevated tee boxes hundreds of feet up, doglegs, blind tee shots. Bunkers around every green, surprisingly wide fairways. Course is an 18 hole loop, turn is at the top of the mountain where there's a small snack shop.

Greens were perfect speed and ran well. Good fairways, good rough. Bunkers could use more sand - seems to be a common theme in AZ.

Carts did not have GPS or include bottles of water in the cooler. There's a driving range before you tee off, and a starter than ensures you go off at your tee time. Driving range was short - maybe 225 yards.

Long drive from parking lot check in area to practice range and first tee. Cart area got clogged with people coming off the course. Limited parking.
