Arizona Grand Resort
About
The Arizona Grand Resort (formerly known as Phantom Horse Golf Club) boasts a challenging golf course, blending desert target golf with traditional links, playing par-71 over 6,336 yards, and a 7,000-square-foot practice green with a bunker and chipping area for a pre-round tune-up.
After a round at Arizona Grand Resort, head to an onsite drinking or dining spot: there's Mexican food, and then there's Southwestern dancing, and then there's a sports bar so you can catch up with someone else's game indoors or outdoors on the patio.
The Arizona Grand Resort also offers several packages, ranging from stay-and-play to family deals to getaways for women to romantic suite packages, complete with breakfast in bed.

Golfer Reviews
Terrible day
I have played here before and enjoyed it. Today was different. They had overbooked the course and didn't manage pace at all. We had a 1:00 tee time and got off late. We followed another group playing from the wrong tees and waited on every hole. We eventually left with 4 holes to go and on the way back to clubhouse each tee box had 2 groups waiting.
When we got to the clubhouse the outside service staff was indifferent to our issues. There was no one in the shop to talk to.
Add in no range to warm up, and a very cumbersome bag drop area and it was a less then favorable day.
Perfect location near the airport
Everything was fine. After passing a group on the third Teebox, we put five holes on them. We were done in four hours. The greens were nice. Most of the grass is a little dormant or matted down but everything worked out fine.
Goofy Layout
First the positives, the greens were pretty good and consistent. Fairways were in reasonable shape and the bunkers seemed to have an ample amount of sand. Carts included GPS and speakers for pairing your phone for music. The staff were friendly and courteous that I interacted with. The course has quite a few elevation changes if you like that type of layout. Pace of play was okay, we played as a threesome so waiting at a few tee boxes was expected.
Now the negatives, too many blind shots off the tee/fairway and the GPS layouts didn’t seem to match up with the actual hole layout. The course design takes the driver out of your hand on too many holes. The signage is poor to know where the next hole is in a few cases as well. The tee boxes were in poor shape, they need some water and maybe the course has a water restriction, I don’t know. The residential buildings are too close on a few holes and there are no screens to protect them. If you played the course a few times I guess you would learn where to hit it but I found it frustrating and not that enjoyable to play.
Nice Place for a round of golf
A little pricey on the beers but overall coure is worth the money thus the 5 stars. I bet it is a great place to stay.
Way to much $$
Way too much money for this course the greens are horrible for $120 plus the drinks are over $10 each no way!!!
Great Value
Course was in nice shape. Greens were running well. A few bunkers needed a little attention. But over all, a nice course. Pace was perfect.
Very Impressed
I didn't know what to expect when I got there, but from the 1st tee box, I could see that this was gonna be a fun day!! The course layout was amazing! Every hole was unique. #2 was under repair, and you can't see it from the tee box, but otherwise, in great shape. Luckily I played with a local to get some shot advice from. Highly recommend this course!!
Really enjoy the course
Beverages are very expensive. Staff was friendly and course layout was good. Liked the views from the course. Course needs a better driving range. We enjoyed our round.
Always fun
There are holes on this course I really enjoy playing.
Nice Course
We were delayed for an hour because of frost, not a big deal but then the staff came around twice telling us we need to speed up because they were really backed up from the frost delay. Sorry but that is not my problem. We were not holding anyone up and keeping a good pace of play. Some of the greens were a bit rough, the fairways were in great shape though. If you decide to eat there be ready for the sticker shock a hamburger will cost you $23.00. The staff in the bar is useless, if you want service don't sit at a table they just ignore you. You have to either sit at the bar or you have to go to the bar to get your drinks and ask for a menu. This was not the kind of service I would have expected from Arizona Grand.
Frostdelay and pace of play
We are visitors from switzerland, choose a teetime to escape the twilight times and to be sure finishing the course before it gets dark.
So first of all is the bag drop closed.- Carrying the bags to the carts.
In the pro Shop we paid the fees and it was charged as we booked it. Starttime arround 01.00 pm
driving range….. hard to find and its only a warm up net installed for 3 people.
putting green…. Small and with 3 holes. On the way we passed the starter and now we got informed, that there is a delay of 1/2 hour cause of frost in the morning.
So we passed our time to finally start at 01.50 pm and it was like hitting one stroke and each following shot we had to wait.
Pace of play was slow and i guess the ranger we saw did not motivate the Golfers two move on quicker.
So we played our last hole 13 😆
The screen informed us with the message to hand in the carts in at 5.35 pm…..
Greens already full of tracks and not in track.
Hole 2 had a building works on the left in the lay up zone- no sign or information.
Not a nice experience and no way to play once more or suggest it to friends
Long Day
The course is short. We played from blue tees at 5800 yards. There were blind shots on numerous holes. Greens were slow. It was a long day (5 hrs 15 min) due to the group in front of us. We waited on every hole. The Marshall told us on 10 that he spoke to them about picking up pace due to the fact that there were two completely open holes in front of them. Never saw the Marshall again. Instead of speeding up, they played slower. By the time we got to 14, there was no one in front of them on the course. Also, they do not indicate no driving range on website and charge $21.00 for sleeve of balls.
