San Tan Highlands

Played this yrs ago so thought would revisit and it was great! Perfect weather, nice pace of play, started on 10th hole which is more challenging and scenic! Would prefer to start at 1st but no worries! Staff was nice but confused about our group, saying the carts were already assigned to our group and range balls were already bought (both not true). The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in very good shape! There was some water in a couple of the bunkers. The rough was an interesting kind of fluffy dormant plant which seemed easier to hit out of! Great round of golf and will definitely return!

1. Rude staff with no communication. Apparently I'm supposed to read their minds that there was a frost delay that occured 3 hours before my round, which delayed my round by an hour.

3. On top of the poor pace of play, the starter sent a 5some out in front of us. We skipped the 3rd hole to get ahead of them. What a joke.

It's a shame, because the golf was great once you got away from the employees and pro shop. But it's not worth it to me. There are better courses in the area that treat you like a patron, not an inconvenience.

5 hour round. The ranger was on the course but didn't appear to doing a thing to move slow players along.

Overall the course is very nice, but as any golfer knows, pace of play is always near the top of what makes a great course.

The carts are new, but the seats are cramped for two medium build men. I've never experienced that with a golf cart.

Frost warning caused 30 minute delay. It appeared that that the starter was rushing the delayed groups on too fast. Then we were changed to start on hoke. 10 instead of hoke #1 to start . Greens were not groomed correctly and lawn mover marks were apparent. With the fact that the rates are up since the name change, put a little bit of those funds aside to improve the course!

Pace of play is ridiculously slow. The staff consists of volunteers who don’t care about pace of play because of the free golf they receive. No communication about frost delay. Cart person drove by us on hole 10 (first time seeing her) then didn’t see her again until 18. This course would be a lot better with the correct staff.

Surprisingly slow pace of play despite there being a course ranger. He was pleasant but apparently not doing much to move slower groups along.

My round took 5 or so minutes less than 5 hours and our foursome waited on nearly every shot starting at the third hole.

Based on the pace of play, I would not recommend this course.

I’m done playing this course. I’m at the point where I’d rather pay 20% more and play any other course.

Pace of play is atrocious. Starter was nowhere to be seen and it was total mayhem. 3 hours to play 9, on course for a 6 hour round before we gave up and left. Things were so backed up that they were an hour behind.

The worst part? No communication. You’d think they’d mention the delay when you check-in… right? Wrong. So you load up and get ready to play, only to be stopped at the last minute by the starter (if you can find him) and he tells you to wait for an hour before you go out.

The pro shop is run by the rudest dude I’ve ever met. Thanks for nothing Mike.

The only redeeming quality is one of the female volunteers who lives there and came and apologized to all the groups. But she then told us she was getting “fired” on January 1st. So goodbye to the volunteers I guess.

Bad course, poor management. Play elsewhere.

Great experience playing with son and two grandchildren. Had a frost delay. Conditions on the course were mostly good. Some areas around the greens were chunky and a challenge to hit out of. Fairways and greens were in good condition. This is a fun track to play
