Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Golfer Reviews
Nothing special but not bad
$150 is pricey for this track but I suppose If you play in the winter that’s what you expect. Nice course, well maintained but it’s very beginner friendly and pace of play reflects that.
Mismanaged
Loved this course (especially Pine) 20 years ago.
While the course needs capital improvements such as new cart paths and bunkers, that was not the main issue.
Our 1240 tee time on in Thursday went off late around 110 pm. We waited on every drive and approach and finished at dark at 605 pm.
They had an Asher Tour event in the morning and the pros, understandably, take longer to play. When you book the amateurs directly behind the pros and tee times are 8 minutes apart, you are going to have a 5 hour day. The pins were left in the hardest position on most greens that the pros played.
These courses could be good again but it feels like packing players in is more important that making the experience enjoyable.
On the upside, the staff is friendly and 16 on Pine is a fantastic par four
Poor customer experience
Told we would have 30 minute delay due to frost. Turns ou we were delayed due to frost and a tournament. After more than an hour wait the last tournament group teed off and were on the first green. We got to the starter who then informed us that we would have to wait until the last 3 threesome of the tournament reached the 4 th tee. At this point we were ready to quit and approached the golf pro desk to find out what was going. We were tired of waiting, tired of the poor information and new wait times. They then said we were teeing off in five minutes. What a disaster in the customer experience.
Excellent course, fun challenge and good layout
The course was in good condition and even with a frost delay we were able to finish our round in just under 4.5 hours. Huge bonus on the par 4 15th hole that has a very challenging island green and you have to be carful not to overshoot the approach shot. Overall a great experience.
Slow play
Was not informed that the course was cart path only until we teed off, subsequently the pace of play was slowed down and we were unable to complete the 18 holes that were paid for. One of the fairways was painted green because the grass was almost dead
Nice. Purse but very slow round 5.5 hours
T time was 12 30 and finished at 5:50. No Marshall’s to keep up pace of play
These guys are Trash and Money Hungry
I bring a group of golfers for a party and 3 of them bailed late and because I booked it, these pricks charged me for all the no shows. l understand they could have sold the spots but things happen where you can’t make it and this is the only course that I’ve heard of that actually charged it. Most are understanding. Plenty of nice courses in Scottsdale, Stay away from this place!
