The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.

The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Very Poor Course Conditions

Course was extremely wet, flooded I. Some areas, greens weren’t smooth they were bulky with some type of artificial grass. We were all extremely disappointed given the conditions to cost.

McCormick Ranch Pines

Wide open layout where you (nearly) always have a shot no matter how wild you’re driving. Course condition was ok albeit a little wet in places and bunkers had compacted sand so difficult to play out of with any certainty. After finishing the round I couldn’t recall any really memorable hole and overall I was left feeling disappointed as the course was definitely not worth the $130 price tag.

Enjoyable Visitor Round

McCormick Pines course is an open layout with bunkers on many holes. There are some wet fairway areas from the winter overseeding. Range, chipping green and putting green are great parts of facility.

Nice track

Other than the course being very dry and the grass (even in fairways) being very firm, we had a good time

1:28 tee time

My wife and I played this course and didn't expect to get all 18 in. unfortunately it took 2 1/2 hours to ply the front with three groups on a tee box on hole # 8. We played three holes on the back and were waiting for every shot. We decided to call it a day after three holes on the back.

Not sure where the slow play originated but we were disappointed in spending almost $ 250.00 with the slow play on this course.

Played McCormick Ranch in 2021 and really enjoyed it. My brother lives locally (but doesn’t golf) and joined me for the round as an observer.

This year I booked a tee time and my brother wanted to ride along. As we prepared for the round, I was told that my brother would have to pay a non-player fee. The employee said it would be $29. When my brother went to the Pro shop to pay, he was told that it would be $49 plus tax, just to sit in a golf cart.

Needless to said, I was shocked and will not be playing McCormick Ranch in the future.

Challenging, Busy Course

The course was in good shape but was a little overgrown since they were coming off overseeding. No putting green to practice on. They also bumped our tee time back without notifying the group until check-in. The worst part was the pace of play. Took 5 hours to complete the round.
