The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.

The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Played McCormick Ranch in 2021 and really enjoyed it. My brother lives locally (but doesn’t golf) and joined me for the round as an observer.

This year I booked a tee time and my brother wanted to ride along. As we prepared for the round, I was told that my brother would have to pay a non-player fee. The employee said it would be $29. When my brother went to the Pro shop to pay, he was told that it would be $49 plus tax, just to sit in a golf cart.

Needless to said, I was shocked and will not be playing McCormick Ranch in the future.

Challenging, Busy Course

The course was in good shape but was a little overgrown since they were coming off overseeding. No putting green to practice on. They also bumped our tee time back without notifying the group until check-in. The worst part was the pace of play. Took 5 hours to complete the round.

McCormack Ranch

The Pine course is very wide open course. The greens when I played were in rough shape… slow and bumpy.

Great Course Condition

Was visiting from NJ and got a good deal on Golf Now. The course was in great shape after the overseeing was completed. Greens were in good shape but not overly fast. Fairways beautiful. Would recommend.

Excellent golf course and facilities.

I come over from the UK every year for 3/4 weeks. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The course is lovely. My only observation is that the bunkers should have softer sand. Otherwise the course was excellent. Looking forward to playing again.

Brutal greens but a lot of fun

Beautiful course, and harder than the USGA seems to credit it for being. I’m a mediocre golfer and found my share of fairway hazards on a few holes as a first timer playing there. Everyone had trouble on the greens - even 2 members we played with. But it was a lot of fun, warm up facilities terrific, staff nice. One of my favorite courses yet. We played Ambiente day before and both of us preferred this course.

Nice Layout

Compared to most public courses, McCormick Ranch Pine is well kept, and an interesting layout not crammed into too small a space. There is a nice practice facility as well. I'll be happy to return and play either course again.
