Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Golfer Reviews
Great Play
Very friendly staff. Good layout, very challenging from back tees. Course in good condition, not great. Pace a little slow but not terrible. Had a fun time.
Oil Spills and Rude Cart Service
Conditions were okay but overall not worth premium pricing charged by the course. A handful of holes had some kind of weird oil sludge covering the fringe that affected approach and chip shots around the green, and everything not fairway/green was severely burnt out.
The biggest issue however was the beer cart experience. Cart attendee was unacceptably rude. I’m usually a pretty laid back person but this woman was legitimately mean to my father for almost no reason at all other than asking what kind of beers she had available. The conditions and price weren’t ideal but this woman ruined the whole experience for us.
On the positive side they let you hit balls as an amenity and the practice areas are solid. Fairways and greens (not covered in sludge) are also nice.
Not worth trying
With so many beautiful courses in the valley, you should skip this one . Too slow, too many houses everywhere, just not a beautiful course.
Maybe for $25 I would play it again
Pine Course at McCormick Ranch
Typical fall weather. Wide open course, easy to find that stray ball off the fairway. Couple of slow groups kept the round frustrating.
Busy on Turkey Weekend but a good value
They book too many teetimes on the holiday weekend but in general I think that the value proposition for this course is excellent.
McCormick Pines Course In Good Shape
Pines Course in good shape on 11/17 with few wet areas after winter over-seeding. Earlier golfer comments seem accurate. Greens rolled well with challenging flagstick placements. A number of greens have ball marks that lazy golfers could have fixed. Our group finished near dusk and AZ sun in your eyes was another dimension.
Great course in excellent shape the views on this course were great
I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED PLAYING TYHIS GOURSE.
A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE I HAD FROM MY MOST RECENT
ROUND, 11/16, WAS OUT OF 18 HOLES PLAYED NOT ONE SAND TRAP/BUNKER HAD BEEN RAKED AND/OR MAINTAINED.
FOR A COURSE OF THIS QUALITY I FEEL THIS LACK OF APPROPRIATE PREPARATION FOR PLAY IS SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE. IT WAS MOST DISAPPOINTING..
