Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club

If you are playing this course for the first time, take a good look at the layout. There are 6 water holes, #15 being the #1 handicap hole. Most of the par 3’s are about 175 yds. The course was in good shape, a few areas were bare, making it hard to get under the ball. Greens were in great shape. A special shoutout to starter, Carl. He got us going earlier than our tee time, (played the back 9 first), and he came out to #18, to tell us that 2 foursomes were getting ready to start on #1. Great guy!

I was very impressed with the course conditions! I've played a lot this summer and a ton of courses are burnt out, patchy fairways, bumpy burnt greens. etc. McCormick's superintendent did a great job prepping this course for the summer. The whole course was green, perfect lies in the fairway, rough was thick and lush(it was refreshing to see longer rough, nice to know someone can grow grass in the desert like they can in the midwest)firm but receptive greens that rolled nicely, For the money you won't find many that are better this one!

I've reviewed this course before. The course is a reasonable challenge, the conditions were above average for courses here this time of year, and pace of play was never an issue--played the entire round with no one ahead and no one behind. The fact that it was 108 probably explains why.

5 handicap. Very challenging course. From back tees. Play the whites if over 10 handicap for sure. We always play the game last one to hit a tree wins. The game is usualy over by the 4th hole. G

I found the course to be a very good play. Greens rolled very true and were in good condition. Some bare spots in fairways as expected this time of year. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Only issue was the condition of the bunkers. Very thin layer of sand in many resulting in some less than desirable shots. This course being older is very much like what is found in Florida on older courses. I enjoyed it and will play again.

Played the Pine Course in under two hours for the front nine.

We pull up to #10, and all of a sudden there is a threesome in front of us that wasn't there during the front nine. Made for a frustratingly long back nine as the threesome in front of us were nothing but "hacks" and had no golf etiquette to let us play through.

The course is starting to show its age, but it remains a good solid course. The layout is certainly above average, with the par 3s all playing a bit long (especially in the wind). The fairways and greens are in decent shape for this time of year ( i.e., we are in transition from rye to the summer bermuda). There were areas of the rough that were well worn and being worked on to get them back before summer. All in all, it is a course I continue to play often--mainly because it is just a short distance from my office and home.

Watch for sneaky water coming into play and study the layout first before you hit

Played on a Saturday. Pace of play on the front was slow but the back was wide open. It’s Saturday, I was expecting worse.

Greens were excellent. Staff was great. Driving range was on real grass. I’d totally play it again. .

I went saw Marshals on the course when we were playing but they didn’t do anything to improve pace of play. Plus, the beverage cart young ladies were clueless on watching out for rage people playing golf. They drive up on group probably 5 times during the round when we’re hiring the ball. Teach them to not do that course management! Run your course better so it doesn’t take 6 hours to play golf on a hot day. Not worth the $89!

So, first time at any McCormick course, the temp was in the 70’s but it was windy.

First I’ll say that I enjoyed the course layout, some challenging holes, strategy was involved, the wind added to it.

I found the fairways and greens to be in very condition, the bunkers were playing very firm.

That said it was weird. The lady who checked me in was not friendly, the cart/starting/range people were absent and not very helpful. Being a first time player, every other course I’ve been too has tried to assist me with direction, as to where things are, but not here.

At my tee time I found the first tee box, waited, no one else showed up, so off I went. By the 6th hole I had caught up to a group of five, I was in no rush and started to hit two balls. Then a twosome caught up to me and I joined them. We passed the fivesome at the tenth tee and off we went. Total round took us just over three hours, we never saw another golfer on the back nine. Good conditions and layout, questionable staffing, the Marshall was very friendly though.

The availability of two courses is always a plus. We played two days and experienced two different courses.

The friendly staff always adds to the positive experience. We didn’t explore the amenities, however, a peek into the restaurant prompted us to return with time for a meal there. We will return for another fun day on their courses.
