Scottsdale Country Club - The Championship Course

From the moment you arrive the friendly staff ensure you are well taken care of, from the bag drop to the pro shop to the Ed the starter. (Special note: Ed was excellent giving us an overview of course) I read some of the less flattering claims before booking, however our group didn’t experience anything that was a negative. I would recommend putting this course on your list if in the area.

Poor experience. Unfriendly staff besides the starter and girl at turn. Greens not in good shape at all. Way overpriced for overall experience. We had a bachelor party group visiting AZ and one of the guys isn’t a golfer so just paid to ride along, then days later we get charged the full price of tee time due their “policy” that they could’ve had another golfer at that time paying full price. Just seems wild they couldn’t make an exception for this occasion, as I’m very confident the course will be just fine financially if ONE tee time was missed, especially considering how overpriced it is anyway.

Starfire is a nice golf course in great condition. We played in 4 hours

I play this course often and have always enjoyed how well maintained the course is and how well we are always treated by the staff. Plenty of challenge from the back tees but very playable for everyone from the right distance to suit your game.

I played in a tournament and had a great time. Course was in great shape with some challenging interesting holes. Pace of play for a tournament was very good.

The course was in great shape. The greens were very good and rolled true. It took a few holes to adjust for the firmness of the greens on the approach shots., just added to the challenge.

I played in a tournament today and the course was in fabulous condition. It had some excellent holes including 4 par threes over water. I would recommend this course to any group looking to play a tournament no matter the size of the group.

We have golfed this course three times in the past three weeks.

The latest pace of play was almost five hours, we had to wait with evert stroke.

Other rounds took 3 -3 1/2 hrs.

Course was in very good condition, however, the tee boxes were hard making it difficult to place tees. Would have been nice if the range and pro shop were open a bit earlier than half an hour before the early ted times. Not enough time for a good warm up. Had to rush it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great course to play.

We have played Starfire many times and really enjoy the overall experience. Unfortunately, today our tee time placed us behind a tournamen of some sortt. So we had a five-hour round.

Did our best to appreciate the course and the weather but waiting at the tee so long on every hole did not help my score! No rhythm to this round. But stuff happens. Other than pace of play it was a wonderful afternoon.
