Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

No Marshall, they had 8 and 7 players playing together, 5/12 hour round. Tee boxes terrible. Hard to even put your tee in the ground. Played here before and it was nice. They must have new management that doesn’t care. Arnold Palmer course!! I sure he would be very disappointed!! My son was going to play there in 2 weeks and I told him to cancel!!!

A good course in Scottsdale without breaking the bank. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

They do not employ Rangers at Starfire. I have never seen one on the course, maybe they exist? Anyway, the pace of play is always extremely slow, count on 5 hours or longer to finish 18. The fairways and greens are the best I have seen at Starfire in 10+ years so cudos to the new owners on that front.

Starfire has a tendency to overbook. As a result, they run out of carts and the pace of play stops. Show up at 12:00 PM to play and they say it will be about 30 minutes before a cart will be available. Likewise, when they overbook, the pace of play stops. We were 5 hours and 24 minutes to play 18. Marshal came by twice and apologized but couldn't do anything about it and said there were 350 golfers on the course that day. Not well managed golf course.

We got caught behind two very large Bachelor party’s…the ranger did all he could do…My wish list is

Pin location cards on the carts…baller washer and club cleaner on all carts….not just some of them.

Great turf conditions on 90 % of the course……lots of carts attendants …why are the carts so dirty.

Maybe the new owner will snap the whip…..Overall we did enjoy our group and the course.

Played this course several times this year and it was in best yet condition. Pace of play was 4.5 hours, which is expected given the spring breakers who have rusty games. Foursome in front of us hit two balls every tee until called out by our foursome on 9th hole. Of course, no ranger to be found. Foursome behind us hit drives that rolled into our group several times. They were not playing from the proper tees. It sees like there is always an issue when I play this course, but I still recommend it.

Very enjoyable round. Fairways were in great shape. Greens were good. Tee boxes were very hard. Difficult to get tee into the ground.

Definetly would play again.

Had an early tee time and expected 2 other golfers. But, since we got to the tee early and it was open, the starter let my wife and I go off early! We had brief waits on the tee box for the group(s) in front of us, but we played 18 holes in under 4 hours! The course is in terrific shape, and the layout is challenging (water and bunkers) on a number of holes, but suitable for golfers of all abilities (except, maybe, beginners). All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. This has come my favorite course in Scottsdale!
