Enjoyable
greens aren't the best, no one repairs their pitch marks and some dead spots but overall enjoyable course
Will not be returning
This is my 3rd time playing here. It’s mainly kids under 18 that are too young to drive a cart so it’s consistently backed up and moving slow. The carts are jankey and feel like they’re falling apart. The greens are also like cement and burned out. Not worth it, even for the cheaper rates.

Thin fairways and bumpy greens
A message from the Owners:
Thank you for the well thought out review.
What you experienced is by design, and part of a $9m course renovation plan designed to completely transform Starfire for its 75th anniversary in December 2028. If you'd like to learn more about that $9m renovation, please see HERE.
When we bought Starfire in September 2024 we found the course didn't meet our quality standards. There are many, many steps to bringing the course back to where we need it to be, but the first is/was the elimination of all weeds, which must be done from April to September. That process leaves brown, bare spots where weeds once were while the bermuda base takes its time to grow back in. That is what you experienced.
Bermuda that's been choked out by rye grass and weeds for many years doesn't all come back in one season. So you can expect that next summer the course will look a lot better than this summer, but still won't be to our standard. And that we'll be at it again. Please consider that before you play here in the summer.
You will find that when we come out of overseed in mid-October Starfire will be a spectacular golf course. So feel free to come back and play then. But whenever you're here, know that what you see is the result of our effort to make the course as good as we can today while simultaneously making it better for tomorrow. Our job is to do that. Your job is to play golf. We wish you the best wherever you choose to do that.

Check in good, got to starter he said front nine was around 2:15 with wedding group in front. After seeing last group had 8 some I called pro shop & reservations answered & tried to call pro shop but no answer! Red flag & no ranger to keep things going. Not very professional & it’s all about $$$$. Sad
We are continually working to improve our golfers’ experience.
We pride ourselves in having some of the friendliest and most welcoming staff in town.
However, it sounds like we missed an opportunity with your group. We will continue to work with our team to ensure every golfer comes in contact with a welcoming friendly team member.

Starfire GC
Greens were receptive and rolled smooth. Course was in pretty good shape, a few wet spots in collection areas, a few dry patches elsewhere. Pace of play was slow on front 9 but ok overall. Good location and value

Starfire, I’ll be back!
What a great value. I played the white tees and thought it was going to be so easy, but I made the right choice.
There was enough water, bunkers trees and hills to make this a really enjoyable outing.
Greens and fairways were in tip top shape.
Course layout was great
Tee boxes could use some work but still playable.
Pace of play was average

Good experience
From the bag boys to the youmg lady in the shop to Starter Dick, all were friendly and welcoming. Course in pretty good shape. A few tees are spotty. Greens are good despite players not repairing ball marks. Good value. Did not see a ranger or cart girl though. Pace of play was great. 2.5 hrs for 18 holes.

Course is in very good condition. Good test of golf for average golfer.

Pace of play sucked
The pace of play was horrible took us 3 hours and barley got thru 9 holes, ranger didn’t say anything, was terrible, course was in great condition. Pace of play was terrible

The course offered a good challenge
The course was both manageable and challenging.
Staff were great.
The serving staff in the afternoon could use a bit of coaching on being a bit nicer….
The server in the morning was great!
The Marshall was top notch!!
The staff that loaded and unloaded our clubs were great too!

Pace of play is atrocious, no ranger
Late afternoon tee times are miserable here. We went to the 1st tee box for a 4:14 Friday afternoon start to find two (2!) full foursomes waiting on the tee plus some kids who said they had a pass that allowed them to play any time after 4. Any time? Just wedge in to a full schedule without a tee time? Never once saw a ranger so really no surprise this course is perpetually backed up. Slow play isn't uncommon here but this was the worst experience yet. Tee times are 8 minutes apart vs a more standard 9 or 10 minutes.
Additionally, I've rarely encountered greens with more giant divots. Gotta call in the pothole patch road crew prior to attempting a putt.
