Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

I was forced to share the cart with another player. The all 3 players arrived at 7:10am were little impaired and soon the beverage cart arrived they were continued consume a lot of beer and hard alcohol. instead focused on golf they were constantly busy on the phones arguing with some people.

The pace of the play was treble. They were way too drunk to be on the golf course.

I noticed that some official from the office was just observing with one-time comments to me that we should speed up because we were 1 and half whole behind. I did not feel comfortable and stock to be driving perfect stranger. Worst experience ever. For sure I will never be playing at Star Fire and will share with experience at your golf course.

Great value - no extras like GPS and hard to find distance, but great for what it is, shorter course with a quick pace of play

First of all too expensive for the condition of the course second of all, it took us over five hours to play the course they put a party of 20 in front of us and the staff and Marshall had no clue never again!

Friendly and helpful staff. Christy is one of the best beverage cart workers. The starter did a great job accommodating the golfers. Very fast 2 1/2 hour round.

The price was good and much of the course is in OK shape but there is plenty of weed and dirt where grass should be. Greens were in better shape that the fairways. 9 of the 18 holes have water hazards. 6 of the first 9 holes are water holes but on the second 9 holes there are only 3 water holes. Starfire is a links style course that is fun to play and for the $25 rate we play there once a week.

We golf at Starfire whenever possible. Staff is always fantastic. I had a great time with my son, which is always the best part.

Most tee boxes are in rough shape, fairway are overgrown with weeds and patchy.....greens are pretty decent and roll quick.

Greens were in great condition and that was about it. Fairways were in awful condition as were some of the tee boxes. Charging that high of a rate for summer in AZ was ridiculous for the condition of the course. Could have played plenty of other places but wanted to try since I'd never been. I won't be back.

Feel like the course gets the most out of the land they have to work with from a course design standpoint. Other than that, I don’t have many other positive things to say about the course.

I’ve been playing here for a couple years and I’ve just watched a general steady decline month over month. It’s obvious that management doesn’t put enough money into maintenance of the course. Tee boxes are in rough shape, fairways too. Greens are okay, but they’re hard to hit when you’re constantly hitting off of dry spots in the fairway or out of someone’s divot on the tee box.

They cram as many people out there as they possibly can, leading to backups all throughout the course. The price is outrageous most of the time for what you actually get. They can only get away with what they charge based on being in the heart of Scottsdale. I’d rather pay up for other Scottsdale courses or just go play in a different city. Probably on my top 3 worst courses in Scottsdale, which is a shame because the design really is awesome.

The front nine is struggling, lots of missing grass and weed patches everywhere. You can hit a good drive and still be hitting off dirt or in a patchy area where your lie is bad. Definitely disappointing.

The course was in pretty good shape given middle of summer and a storm the night before. Not special, not bad. T times are too close to each other. 5 hr round...

The tee boxes and greens were excellent.

The fairways were not good. We had to roll the ball quite a bit to get off the dirt patches.

Staff was excellent. Good people.

Beware booking for a group via GolfNow - I booked 4 tee times for this course and had to eat over $40 in fees.

I was expecting brown grass due to the time of year and the fact that they are seeding in a few weeks. Boy was it the opposite. Fantastic conditions for late summer!

This links style course and layout is one of my favorites. Greens rolled well and tee boxes were level. Fairways need some water since some bare spots and weeds are evident on 5 of the holes. Cart service was considerate and never got in the way of play. Highly recommend if you have out-of-town quests or if you just want to play an Arnold Palmer-designed course.
