The course is fun to play and has a good mix of hole layouts.
Star fire course review
Course was in great condition, pace of play was very good, layout is complex and maps were not explicit transitioning hole to hole. Overall I would recommend it.

Conditions of the course needed improvement
The condition of the course was below par due to extremely wet conditions as well as spotty patches of poor over seeding. The range was not opened prior to my tee time. Note I had the first tee time at 7:02am. The bunkers had a lot of standing water.

Way over priced
This course was way over priced. This course is in a group of courses that includes Coyote Lakes which was much better priced and better to play. The Starfire’s greens were not very good and the bunkers were terrible. I would play Coyote Lakes again but I would never play Starfire again.

Always appreciate the value at Starfire!
My husband and I arrived early at the course and were able to tee off 40 minute before our TeeOff time. We did have a slow group in front of us but skipped ahead on 10 and finished the round in 3 hours and 40 minutes. Always some interesting holes and enjoy the course!

Pace of Play-poor
We knew that starting our game at 2PM would be a challenge to be done by the requested return time of 5:35pm sunset. However, the club put FIVE players in front of us that were not concerned about others and we had to wait on them constantly....annoying! So we paid for 18 holes but only played 14.
Our apologies a 5some went out, as that is not our policy and would never have been authorized.
That time of year 2pm is the start of our Twilight rates as you stated it would be hard to get in 18 holes at that time with the amount of play going off earlier in the day.
We hope to have you back out to experience Starfire in the prime season,

Course conditions
Recently played after fall aerating & as to be expected the greens were slow but in nice condition. Staff very courteous in moving up our tee times putting greens & range were closed in finishing Dallasaerating. Had a nice round and would play again earlier in season..

Aware of over seeding however the overall condition was disappointing, and level of amenities was poor.

Ridiculous
Tried to play a round with a friend visiting from out of town. We are in our 60’s, not some punk kids. Instead, had a marshal follow us around continually telling us we were playing too slow even though there was absolutely no one in front of or behind us and we were on pace for a four hour round anyway. Honestly, I am going to pursue legal avenues to get my money back for a really bad way to conduct business by Starfire. SHAME ON YOU FOR HAVING BAD EMPLOYEES. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER GREAT COURSES IN THIS AREA THAT DON’T HARASS YOU FOR NO REASON.

Very good course with an excellent staff. Just reopened from overseeding so conditions were not perfect. Still a great day of golf.
