SturFyer: "The Home of "How many holes can we fit between these Townhomes?""
Incredible design where the number one hazard on the course is somebody's Traeger Grill or a Child's playset. Stur Fyer has developed a genome of crab grass so rare and exclusive, they seem to showcase it as the majority of the fairway.
The front desk guys treat this place like AuguSTARFIRE, they are doing you a favor by letting you play on the hallowed grounds, home of the 8-some bachelor party, of Stur Fyer.
This place exists to trick people from the Midwest into spending $320 on a round during WM Phoenix Open Week. Operation cheese curds and snowbirds
My favorite hole is on the closing stretch of the back nine, the one where you can bomb it over the houses and business along Shea. Gotten some insane kicks off that dudes roof. Good lies and angles out of their front yard, don't go too far right into 6 lanes of traffic.
Starfire
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only disappointment was that they had the front 9 of the course was closed due to seeding. They had us play the executive course as the front 9 and then play the back nine of the Starfire course. We would have selected a different course to play if we had known that in advance.
That is not to say the executive course was not a fun little course but just not what we had anticipated to play.
Thank you for playing Starfire!
We appreciate you playing Starfire and your feedback. It is our intention to inform all guests of the rotation during our overseed process, by posting information on our website, notifications on the internet booking and detailed information relayed over the phone. I apologize that we did not get this message to you.
We will continue to work on customer service and communication training to eliminate these misses.

Slow play wrecked the round.
We were a twosome behind an extremely slow foursome. They were even playing a best ball and still it was painful. The course had a couple of martials that were friendly but did not do much to correct the pace of play. Another couple drove past us and did not finish their round clearly frustrated with the slow play as well.
Thank you for playing Starfire Golf Club.
We take speed of play seriously and make sure our course marshals and starters are continually working with our golfers on their pace. It looks as though we missed an opportunity, and we will continue to improve.
We hope to have you back for the Starfire experience again soon.

Doing a review of a course which just finished overseeding is not fair and it has to be taken into account. Path only conditions. Friendly people but no discount inspite of the overseeding conditions.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through overseeding. We hope you can come back out soon and experience our fantastic winter conditions.

Not worth it when forced to play the par 3
They were overseeding the front nine so we had to play the par 3 course for the first nine holes. Overall course conditions were below average, recognizing it was mid October. Should have been lower priced. .
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for your feedback. We will use this information to help us continue to improve.

Detestable Thievery
We played a round at this course and 4 days later they ran a transaction and charged us a no- show fee. I called and talked to Travis the golf director and he refused to reverse the fee even after acknowledging that we did play and were there for our tee time.
This is not the kind of place that you want to play. There are too many other courses in Scottsdale which are run by honest, reputable professionals.
Terrible Conditions and Even Worse Employees
Absolute goat track with rude and disrespectful employees. Tee boxes are so hard you can’t get a tee in the ground, had to use the rocks that marked the tee box to hammer them into the ground. Starter made several distasteful comments, on multiple occasions, that upset my group. He was borderline bullying us. Pro shop employees weren’t much better. Avoid this place at all cost, absolute nightmare.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for taking time to leave some feedback. While we pride ourselves in our employees' training in customer service it sounds like we missed some valuable opportunities.
We will continue to improve the service provided so an experience like this doesn't happen again,
Travis Fish, Director of Golf
Disappointed in staff that Took care of you at the end of the round. They did not bring to my attention a bag I left in the little container behind the seats that had. A number of items in it worth about $40. When I got back to my timeshare, I realized it and phoned the desk and just suggested they deal with the individual.. I guess I really don’t expect that happened.
We are continually working to improve our golfers’ experience.
We pride ourselves in having some of the friendliest and most welcoming staff in town.
However, it sounds like we missed an opportunity with your group. We will continue to work with our team to ensure every golfer comes in contact with a welcoming friendly team member.

Course Not Ready
This course was NOT ready for play. The grass on the fairways was not fully planted. Most of the fairways were muddy and spotted with grass and weeds. We were not told before or during booking that it was cart path only. However, we would have played anyways but the entire course and especially the greens were awful. IMO this course needs to close until it's ready for play. What a waste of money.
Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. We regret the conditions you experienced during your round at Starfire. While courses so have come conditioning challenges right after they come out of overseeding, please be assured that our overseeding has come in fantastically We appreciate your understanding and look forward to the opportunity to make a better impression during your next visit.

Over seeding challenges
Course was at the start of their over seeding process. Front nine was a par 3 course with slow pace of play. The back nine was better but the temperature was not forgiving.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for the review. So many courses in some form of overseeding sends a lot of people to Starfire for their golf, putting a lot of demand on our Mulligan 9, but we're happy to hear the pace picked up on the back 9. The course length helps to better spread golfers out.
This heat has been trying everyone's patience so we are glad you keep coming out for golf!
Travis Fish, Director of Golf
Overseed conditions
They were in the process of overseeding and thought playing the Milligan 9 was a good substitute for the price. I felt we overpaid for what the product we got. The course said it was listed online but I sure didn’t see where said anything.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for the review. Starfire listened to our golfers and they like the ability to have any combination of 18 holes available vs. just 9 holes. Starfire also goes to great lengths to make sure our golfers are aware of the rotation during our overseeding process.
When making a tee time online an alert pops up, before the user can continue making the tee time, a box has to be checked indicating they have read the overseeding alert.
We are so sorry an opportunity was missed. We hope to see you after the completion of overseeding.

afternoon golf
The difficulty with an afternoon round is the sun is low in the sky & difficult to follow ball flight on a few holes
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for the review! We thought the difficulty of an afternoon round would be the heat this time of year! Nonetheless, we agree that golf is difficult enough without the sun contributing to our lost golf balls! We look forward to having you out for a mid-day round of golf soon!

Decent condition, quick play as few golfers out there.
Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for the 5-star review!
We are so happy you enjoyed the course and our great staff.
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Thank you for playing Starfire and thank you for your feedback. Yes, a lot has changed in the 73 years that the course has been around like major cross streets and home development. The designers probably never imagined anything like the development we have now. So sorry to hear it was not to your liking. There definitely are certain courses for certain horses as they say.
